Robert, thank you, and please help us along the way. What do you think about the FIA Homologation discovery?
May 1985, a very early test. By the way, these European articles are a veritable treasure-trove of period information & specs. I'll post contents of the articles later Image Unavailable, Please Login
September 1986. Now we know, this was not a 455 bhp car, it was one of the 470 bhp cars, Peter Dron did not catch on to this at the time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Joe, somehat shocked to hear this amazing discovery. I was aware of the 288 for group B, but not the QV. Do you have any more information on the car used for homologation? To answer the washer fluid reservoir for euro cars, mine is in the front trunk on the left hand side as you look at the car, standing in front of. Cheers Rob
Driven by F1 driver Pierluigi Martini, the results are hardly surprising looking back. That said one cannot expect a standard car given to a random journalist to achieve what this car did Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, would 15bhp difference between the 455 / 470 cars really result in an additional 16mph top end? I'm no engineer, but thought the relationship between top end and bhp was not linear. R
STUNNED was my reaction. But as they say, if you go looking, perhaps you'll find something, right? Yes, I have all 16 pages, plus lots of notes from Marmiroli. If only Mimran had waited one more year to sell, the Super Countach might have manifested itself.
That plus condition plus driver hand;ling. Actually it went 191 mph, as opposed to standard cars such as the UK yellow car achieving 180, so an additional 11 mph. But, lets not turn this into a statistics debate, lets just enjoy the car as a whole! BTW I'm no engineer either!
May 1985. Who can forget this one. This magazine and its article caused me to buy my first Countach 28 years ago. I later met Barry Robinson, what a guy Image Unavailable, Please Login
December 1986, some great factory images by Jeffrey Zwart in this issue Image Unavailable, Please Login
May 1985 F1 World Driving Champion Keke Rosberg and his Bianco Perlato Downdraft with EE plates Image Unavailable, Please Login
October 1986 If Keke has one, I want one too. Ferrari F1 pilot Gerhard Berger and his Austrian-registered Downdraft I have great clear images of this car, I'll post later Image Unavailable, Please Login
