for sure the early LP400 cars were lighter than the later ones, thanks to more magnesium-elektron parts

    That is great to hear!

I know Chris Harris loves the Countach, so I expected his review would be at least somewhat positive.

The older I get, the more I think that being able to drive a Countach well and actually enjoy it is simply a matter of being a competent driver.

What I mean is, the Countach exposes some driver's limitations.

In support of this theory, as far as I can recall, all the great drivers who have owned a Countach or tested one, loved the car - we know F1 pilots Martini, Berger & Rosberg owned and drove theirs extensively, and I'm aware Le Mans winners Hill, Frere, Pescarolo, Bell, and Ickx have tested and loved the Countach.

    Just a thought.

It is the infamous Kreisseg exhaust.

Every car we have is COMPLETELY stock...and my dear friend Mr. Sackey always reminds me to change the exhaust... : )

And yes...we do have the original Ansa unit.

I just cannot get over the sound of the Kreisseg exhaust, and you will see in the show... neither could the hosts. Almost the entire episode revolves around how insane the QV is to drive... and how insane it sounds! I think they call it the "ULTIMATE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE."

Positive is a understatement... Quote... "There is no automobile comparison to the QV Countach..."

Therefore, give a Countach to a guy, and if he comes back smiling, then we can conclude that he can drive, if he comes back whining & complaining, he can't drive.

The ultimate driver's test, and as they like to say in England, it separates the boys from the men :)

Dear John, the next time I am in Miami (very soon), I will arrive with my bag of tools, and with your kind permission, I will personally free your Downdraft from that appendage you refer to as an exhaust :D

BTW, you should hear the sound that our car emits, a few people here have ;) that said, you'll like the Ansa.

That is indeed a nice compliment.

Just got back from Italy. Had an amazing dinner with Valentino, and trip to the Lamborghini Factory, as well as Pagani, Ferrari etc. Lots of amazing conversation with Valentino regarding many things, especially the F/I vs DD debate, the value of homologation, friendships etc.. 22. Wow! That had to be an incredible experience spending time with Valentino, and of course Italy & the factory.

Small world, I just spoke with Valentino today, conversing about Miura SVs, Lamborghini personalities, future exploits and more besides, he is such an accommodating and diplomatic man.

Personally, I appreciate the working relationship he has allowed us to have with him to source cars for clients, and we have sent him to all four corners of the globe to test drive Miuras & Countachs in that regard, from Africa to America to the Middle East to the Far East. I can't think of a better person to test-drive a Countach. This portrait of him in our car during the film shoot https://www.instagram.com/p/BZ5KtdRj5h9/? is special to me because of the input he gave us with this car, and here below he is testing for us a Countach LP400S S1 Speciale built by the factory with a Periscope roof, not long ago.

This Downdraft @ Cotswold Collector Cars Ltd (previously owned by Didi Goetz) appears to be well priced, anyone from the
    UK seen it up-close-and-personal yet?
