Jude it appears as if your Downdraft FLA12824 is featured on the back cover of the Marcello Gandini book Maestro of Design https://www.daltonwatson.com/Marcello-Gandini-Maestro-of-Design-p/gandini-regular-edition.htm if that's your car then it's a pretty cool piece of provenance. I looked at the actual image of the car in the owner's brochure and it appears to have the standard black caulking. Certain images such as the one below show the caulking, but in other digital images such as John's car on this page the caulking appears to be red because of low-resolution color saturation, we see this often with red cars. Bear in mind the caulking when the cars were new was thinner than is being redone in contemporary times. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is amazing John. I even love the C3P0/R2D2 replicas. It's comforting to think that we're all just big kids at heart!
The C3PO and R2 are a bit more than replicas. While not screen shot they were made by Lucas film contractors for official events. The R2 is one of the most operational made. And the landspeeder was made by the original guys from spares and molds of the original after it was destroyed Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app

Wow! Thanks for pointing this out! Indeed, this appears to be FLA12824. The license plate number threw me off, but attached is a picture of the car at auction in Paris during Artcurial 2013, with the same license plate. Tom Papadopolous of Autosport Design bought the car at Artcurial, and imported it to the US, thereafter. I purchased the car from one of his clients in 2015. Very cool--can't thank you enough. Now, gotta order the book.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's FLA12824 today Image Unavailable, Please Login being readied for transport home after the 2018 Washington Auto Show with "other" display vehicles.
Sorry for costing you money with my observation, meanwhile here below is the very moment Tom purchased FLA12824 Perhaps the red cars are always jealous of the attention the Downdraft gets Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mike Perry just posted this image of himself with 3 Countach Downdrafts behind Portman Lamborghini's George St showroom circa 1988, that's Mike Taylor's Jersey-registered car in front. I vividly recall his recounting of a trip he took from London to Bologna for the 25th Anniversary in that car, during which he drove it on the Autostrada as fast as it would go... Meanwhile, I owe Mike P many thanks, a few years before this image was taken he sold me my first Lamborghini (a Countach LP500S) and the love affair commenced Image Unavailable, Please Login
The seemingly additional height could just simply be an optical illusion when the owner (or whomever), chooses to rotate the repeater to align with the angled front of the car, rather than square to the ground?
One last note, if you ever catch up with Pierre Brignole, ask him if he knows anything about FLA12824 being used (briefly) in a French movie.
