    Hello,

Has anyone else encountered problems with new lower ball joints for the Countach from Lamborghini? (Part #005109520). Our car is a 1979 LP400S model.

The dimensions of the pair Lamborghini sent us are quite different than the original set in many ways. The press surface DIA is too large. Also the joint they sent us also has a different taper and the taper is located in a different position on the shaft. I have reached out to a few parts sources and sent photos and they stock the same part Lamborghini sent us.

The original joints have GM stamped into the bottom of them. Does anyone know what model these may have come off of? We are thinking some sort of Opel, Vauxhall, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Oh Lord, they are different. Shame on them if the are selling a very inexpensive GM parts for ridiculous Lamborghini prices.

The part number on these lower ball joints is the same for the LP400 and the 5000S. (005109520)
We checked another LP400S and it has the same (what we believe to be original) GM stamped lower ball joints on it.
The new ball joints press surface OD is 80 thousandths larger than the original part.
With tolerances like that it won't press in to the stock lower control arm.
