White Pearl on white Countach (w/ wing) is in the Black Horse Motors Show room. I have no idea what the asking price is or condition of the car. I just happened by on the way home... kind of hard to miss. Didn't have time to stop though.

Just thought I'd give the heads up.

Not sure. My guess would be 83-85. Pre anniversary body work.

Would you like me to find out?

Not a problem. It may take me a few days to get over there... as you know simply calling isn't really worth it ;)

    Thanks Charles.

Also. Please kindly ask if it is a downdraft Weber car; if it is a 1985.

Well, I got out of work early on Friday and promptly went by Blackhorse motors. The car was still in the show room and as I pulled up to park noticed some very interesting cars. There was a comp Daytona with flares in need of a paint job and interior restoration but, looked very well driven and enjoyed, which in my book is better than a pristine one that just sits. A black 308 that looked heavily modified from the outside. Two Dinos both were gorgeous and those were just the highlights. Passing by them I quickly made my way to the door of the showroom. It was locked. I then noticed a sign on the door saying "use other entrance." Ooops. So I walk around to the other door in front, and it's locked as well. I then head back in the direction of the first door and there is another fellow reading the sign. I say hello, and walk by toward the back on the left side of the building. A guy coming toward us, obviously recognizing our interest, says "maybe the guys back there can help you" and walks off. Didn't seem to happy.

I continue to the back where a garage door is open. There are to fellows in the bay area. One standing and one on his knees looking at a car. There is no one else around. I have to say "hi", only the guy standing replies. I then address both, as neither are taking initiative or being friendly. "I'd like some information on the white Countach in the show room."

The guy kneeling turns his head halfway back toward me and says "It's not for sale" in a very annoyed tone and promptly goes back to what he's doing. No eye contact much less anything else. I look at the other guy with what I'm sure is a WTF look on my face. He just gives a small smirk and stands there.

Now on my drive home I was replaying everything in my head. Was it me? I was only wearing jeans and a T-shirt. But, then again I've walked into Ferrari dealerships looking much worse and gotten chatted up or even just a hello. Also, I do look younger than I am but even if you thought I was only 30 or so there are plenty of young entertainment executives, producers, talent, ect... that are qualified buyers/customers.

So, that's my experience with Blackhorse motors. They obviously do a good bit of business with the Ferrari community here in LA but, if first impressions are everything there doesn't seem to be much there.

Sorry the car wasn’t for sale. Why it’s in the show room in a prominent position with its doors wide open I’m not sure.

As I understand, the workshop in the back (Black Horse Motors) is seperate from the the showrrom (Black on Black). There was a thread regarding Black on Black a month or two ago in the general section saying they were going backrupt, so I am not sure what the story is.

But because they are seperate owners, is probably why you were treated rudely by the mechanics.
