    True, but this also means that many of the cars were run on a shoestring budget, poorly maintained, often neglected, and sometimes abused.

    As a result, many of the cars from that era became restoration projects.

    Joe, I recall seeing a photo of the Shah in #4870 in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

    No, he was imaged in his Miura P400 and his Espada, both in St Moritz.

    As I owned the car, I searched diligently for an image of the Shah with Miura SV 4870, without success

    Less and less. Almost none now.
    #1120196 was one of them until last year. Maybe #1120050.
    And I heard of another one possibly in Germany or Switzerland that was offered to a gentleman for his 18th or 20th birthday back then. He still owns it!

    Yes, John Casti was an american professor teaching in Austria.
    He ordered that Countach LP400 #1120254 at the Lamborghini factory himself early Spring 1977.
    The following year he ordered, also directly at the factory, the last LP400S of 1978 chassis #1121032, right before the "big crisis" (the following cars were only completed in April 1979 while some people already placed their orders in late 1977).
    I believe he was some kind of "Lambo VIP" ;)

    I can remember Roland Staub (making apprenticeship at Lambo Motors) talking about this yellow car. He still owns the Lambo service at Aesch only 500m away from the former Lambo Motors. But he doesn't have any pictures, but showed me once pictures of the Bravo there in green.
