These appear to to copies, as I have never seen an original manual with a spiral binder. I have original manuals for most of the early cars and none of them have a spiral binder.

Not being 100% sure if the LP400 and LP400S books are real or copies I have taken a couple more pics of the back of the books. I do realize that this could have been copied as well but the front and back of the books are that nice thick glossy type of paper-cardboard material and have printed on the back of each, AUTOMOBILI FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI s.p.a. with the address and phone # of the Factory. In each book, attached in back of the book is a fold out spec sheet as well, and my LP400 book came in an original parts Lamborghini bag with part number 901120502 on the bag. I have seen for sure copies of manuals and the ones I have seen do not have pictures of the cars on the cover, they have been just a black cover with whatever model car they were for printed on them.[/QUOTE]

 

The original manuals were not spiral bound. However, later on, the factory started making the spiral bound manuals. They are not original, in that they were not made when the cars were manufactured, and they are not the type of manual that came with the car when it was sold new, but, they are basically factory-produced reproductions, which are still high quality, and much better than the copies made by individuals unrelated to the factory. So, the manuals are high quality, and useful, but not as valuable as the originals that came with the cars when new.

 

We don't need to post pics, I have a friend owning an LP400 and Joe posted pictures of his original manuals in the Countach Thread.
No original factory manual was spiral bound, that's a fact.

I own the original versions of these manuals and agree that the pictured
ones are some sort of copy.
I am not at home so I cant post pictures.

Its very simple:

Book bound = originals

Spiral bound = copies

However, I should add that some of the copies are perfectly good in detail and the factory themselves commissioned several runs of these spiral-bound items in the 1980s.

Then you have the simple print copies in black-and-white that you could get through several clubs in the 90s.

Then you have the factory-commissioned items with black hard-cover with model designation and newer Lamborghini logo that were produced in the early part of this decade.

BTW original book bound items are VERY valuable. The items 97 Diablo has seem in very nice condition and make sense if you don't wish to pay the thousands required to get an original manual (especially LP400).

FYI, my Miura S & my Espada S.I manuals have no binders.

 

I think you have the factory second series items.

 

I have a manual for the LP400, it once belonged to chassis 1120248 ( Swedish registration number KDJ353 ). I will problably sell/exchange it to a friend with an LP400. Its not perfekt but in very good condition. What it is worth? I would like an opinion what a fair price would be.
