Any recommendations on good headers and exhaust? Are they still available new or is this mostly a second hand item now? I looked on the ANSA site and didn't see a lot there for a Countach - mostly newer models. And do you need anything different for a FI than a DD regarding the exhaust (i.e. are the brackets or anything else different)?

Quicksilver & Larini are good options, both can be purchased brand new from their manufactures.

Do you have a US spec bumper? The only difference I can think of is the exhaust tip length.

I don't even have my Lamborghini yet, but I'm in the market later this year. Always interested in learning about the different models and options available. Ideally I will be avoiding the models with US bumpers still attached - even the Anniversary bumpers put me off.

This is an interesting QV, I have no knowledge as to the cars history etc:

    https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/lamborghini/countach/2084012.html

It's the second car (along with a very nice recently restored 400S) where I've noticed caulking incorrectly applied on top of the front bumper. Assuming it's mechanically stout, this could be a nice example for someone to enjoy. Perhaps I'm partial to triple white ;).

Do your homework, lots of info avail, 2 valve 4 valve, high body or low, i like them all, will addmit i have a very special spot for the Periscopo cars, but there is a price to pay.
Lots of fun , find your car.keep us posted

  11. Your going to pull the engine out also to change the cams. A hood has been on eBay , off and one over the years. Pretty pricey though. IIRC around 25k.

I remember that hood too, price rises every time it's listed. There's also a reproduction floating around as well.

  13. I guess that's good, if your really set on converting.

Right, I don't see anyone springing for it anytime soon unless the car is a project etc..

(not to disparage either hood, both were very nice)

I've been looking at that one as well - triple white is my favorite too, but I'm not in a position to do anything until the company sells and settles, so I'm just hoping it's still for sale when I'm ready!

I'm trying to read and learn as much as possible. I'm partial to the 4V cars, which narrows my choice pretty much to a DD or FI (I personally dislike the Anniversary - the wheels, air scoops and bumpers are not what I had on wall as a child and I'm really still just a man child now - I want the rear wing too!) so I'm trying to learn what I can on these forums and researching. Obviously there's a difference in price between the FI and DD, but I believe maintenance and running costs are similar (certainly not wildly different) and as I'm partially looking at this for investment (well, I don't want to lose hundreds of thousands like I would if I bought a new Aventador) I'm weighing my options. But ultimately, I want to drive it - it won't be a garage queen.

Oh man, I've been so busy so I haven't had time to reply to this thread. So lets get things straight. Joe Sackey, who enjoys belittling others with his holier than thou attitude enjoys belittling everyone who doesn't jump on-board his parade. Anyone who does not agree with him is an unhappy wannabe, he insults where others live, things they like or enjoy, and even their health.

According to Joe Sackey I am liar, because I have maintained my position on the FI vs DD debate. But lets take a look at the real liar and master manipulator, starting with his thread on the 25Th Anniversary...

Lets start here , with Tbakowsky calling out Sackey on the reasoning behind his start of the thread. Joe of course vehemently denies starting the thread for his personal gain . Oddly enough, if you read the entire thread you will see approx 1 year later, Joe specifically states that he is so excited to get his Silver Anniversary on the road after over a year of fettering. It is no coincidence that throughout the thread there was a vast amount of Silver Anniversary pictures.....

Oddly, the Anniversary thread is a bit more civilized than the DD thread, except where Chad Bolles asks about Sackeys lawsuits, and where a few others dismay from Sackeys opinions..

Continueing on... See when you have a Fuelie for sale, things I have been accused of lying about seem to appear.... Whats this? Fuel Injected cars are rarer than DD's?

By the time he purchased the QV, fuel-injected Countach was his only USA-legal option, it's not like he picked it over the Downdraft as you're suggesting.
