My friends 88-1/2 white /red car sold at Cats Exotic. Pretty quick deal. Nice honest car ,but in need of all US bumper and garb removal. Good luck to the new owner. Nice car.

  2. Curious what price? Was it a consignment or did Cats own it?

    Just on the wings...

I’ve read a lot about the variations in the wings fitted on different Countach variants.

Does anyone have any info on who fabricated the wings?

I contacted my friend over in Italy and asked her this question. She spoke with Mike Dallara who confirmed the wing was definitely made by a supplier outside the factory. Though not 100% positive, he thought it would have been “Marchesi”.

Information on this is scarce because the wing was not an official Lamborghini component as is well understood by now, but I don't think Marchesi & Co in Modena was involved, they mainly focused on chassis construction.

That said I'm fairly sure the wings were constructed by skilled local carrozzeria (Bacchelli & Villa > Carrozzeria Auto Sport for example), and, I think they may have been made by more than one entity over the 12 or so years that wings were affixed to standard production cars.

What is the reason for eliminating the seat's fore & aft plus rake adjustment?

I'm all of 6' 2" in my shrunken old age and I fit comfortably in either seat of a 5 liter Countach, perhaps there was a regular passenger who was very tall who needed to be accommodated.

Depending on shape & size, it's a function of comfort & safety for passengers (& the driver) to be able to adjust the seat back-and-forth and select the best recline position for them. You mentioned elsewhere that you purchased the car like this many years ago, did the previous owner provide the adjustment hardware (brackets, rails, and spring-loaded levers), and do you plan to return the seat back to factory-mounted specification?

wings were VERY different from first to last type
and there were AT LEAST 2 different suppliers for them...may be more
Marchesi is a chassis builder and i think he was not one of them

to give you an idea this is QV wing Vs LP400S s3 wing side by side comparison: smallere one is the QV model

Yes. It will be returned to original. As it should. It will be a job for coming hot season in Florida where the car sits innside in ac.
