At no reserve as well. A brave soul. Looks like they are selling a dd also. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0122-500125/1988-lamborghini-countach/
Mediocrity is a choice anyone is entitled to, but I think it comes down to the fact that their business model means they will consign anything and see what it brings, so they have more cars than they have time or the inclination to represent properly, quality isn't their top priority. Their sales are generally in the lower end of the auction market compared to other auction companies in the market, meanwhile perhaps you explain their thinking better than they can themselves, although some will say that's still no excuse for mediocre presentation. 100%, this is a basic premise without which doubt is immediately cast. They are selling a highly modified/customized/butchered example of what may or may not be an original Downdraft. Understatement of the outgoing year 2021.

Anyone knowing this car? 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole | R538 | Indy 2022 (mecum.com)
With the rocker panels, that should be a 88.5. Nope, none that I'm aware of came from the factory with Anni wheels.
HLA12126 on BAT 7k-Kilometer 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV for sale on BaT Auctions - ending April 25 (Lot #70,912) | Bring a Trailer
Looks very clean. Not spotted a tool kit though, which is surprising for a car that looks well looked after and young in miles / KM's. Those bumpers need some serious remediation.
The rocker panels need to find a new home. The video of the driving was a letdown. Race track with a school zone, who would have known?
How not to sell a car. You have a supercar and you drive it at 20mph. Rock n roll. Also, they will try to fix the wing mirror switch. Not exactly confidence inspiring huh.
I honestly think the presentation was good, if in the market, i for sure would want to be the one racing this 35 year old car around the track, (if any)not the person selling it to me,as a Countach owner, the remote mirror switch thing is totally irrelevant, and can be fixed anytime.
I'm not expecting the sales person to race the car, but they could "drive it" and demonstrate the glorious sounds of the engine / exhaust. Which as a perspective buyer and a car of this standing, is a large part of what it is all about. re: switch, you're a long term Countach owner, so you have an opinion and it's not important for you. For someone contemplating buying the car at 500K plus, their opinion may be different. They may also be thinking well, if the switch is gone and they can't repair it, what else could be wrong with the car. you're not buying a 10K 15 year old Honda. There will be expectations for that level of investment.
All good points, and respected, imho, any Countach buyer have already watched 100 s of videos with all variations of Countach combinations, reg nmbr of valves, fi, carbs, with a myriad of exhaust combinations, seen it, and is moving forward towards actually plunging down the cash. Reg the switch, not sure if you should venture inn to anything ,35 years old ,( with an engine in it) if this is worrisome to you. All in all good presentation, seems like a nice overall car. The leather on the centre console switch panel looked almost to nice. Must have been really well stored.
Not saying this car. Leather is often re dyed. I had a friend with a 928, the interior was well worn. Almost 100k of seat time. He pulled the interior & had it professionally re dyed. It was amazing. Looked new. In regards to research on purchases, just a personal observation, It almost appears that the higher the price, the less time spent on research. People do it all of the time investing. Someone will analyze a 100 vacuum cleaners but not look at the closing costs when comparing loans, etc.
I get both perspectives, but driving it so slow at constant speed makes me wonder why they don't rev it or pull it through the gears. Especially considering they took it to a track.
Ok . which one of you cheap b.st.rd stole this at 860k? I had no idea this car was in MA next door to me.. If buyer is driving it we can raise a countach party in the region for a proper welcome! hope the buyer will lose these rockers too!
