Just picked up my 88.5 QV last night. What are the correct tyre pressures? Where is the idle adjustment screw?
on every side at the carbs, do you have the owners manual, in there it's described. But sometimes it's not only that screw, in a few cases you have to adjust also the mixture. http://www.countach.ch/HeadGasket/Step10/index.html The screw at the edge with the spring is the idle setting, turn in to lower, turn out to increase rpm.
Please send your email adress to info @ countach.ch, I'll send you some scans... But before you change everything did you think about bringing the car to a known specialist? Although I do a lot of things on my own I'd never mess with the carbs... I am really at a loss with no hand book, Does my QV have an auto choke. Haven't really had a chance to explore it since picking it up. Hopefully ill get round to it this weekend.
i have the correct owner's manual for your car sent you a PM p.s. i second Raymond suggest to not mess too much with carbs Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The carbed cars had only a manual choke, do you still want to adjust idle yourself, the I scan the manual part this weekend.
Hi If your stuck for some practical advice on it please give me a call. I dont know about setting carbs etc , but about owning starting driving etc am happy to answer any questions. I live in Glasgow but take my cars down to Colin Clarke at Abbots Langley beside Watford/Hemel to do the servicing on my cars. 800 mile roaund trip but cheaper in the long run and at least he is an expert. So is Mike Pullen but depends which is closer to you ? Paul 07831467360
Emilio: That cannot be a QV manual. Because that's an LP400S S1 on the cover. In fact, your former car. So there must be some mistake.
Can you show the page that describes the firing order. The last Countach manual I saw pictured the firing order for a Miura I would resist the desire to do any carb "adjustments" unless you really know what you're in for. It's not brain surgery but it's pretty easy to get in over your head. It's probably better that it run poorly than not at all.
In Fact you missed to put a smiley into your post, since all manuals show Emilios 1121020, but my car GLA12997 is explicitely mentioned on these pages But the mistake is that GLA12997 doesn't have this climate control unit, but she's the prototype for the MY 1987 dashboard.
Tim, these scans i had on PC at office i will have to scan the firing order pages...but i am on holiday from tomorrow please remind me and i will do when i am back
