    Hi All,

As many of you know i have just replaced the trunk lid on my Countach.

I finally got the rear wing back to day and need to mount it.

Anyone have the measurements for the position to mount the brackets on the trunk lid?

Example:- How far is the bracket mounted back from the leading (forward) edge of the trunk lid?

    Mounted the rear wing.

The distance on my car was 60mm in order to provide enough clearance to clear the engine cover and have the correct asthetic look.

    So 36.5mm on Jim's car. 84 CT 2 V

    51 mm on my friend Tim's car. 81 LP400S

    60mm on my QV5000 FI 88.5.

    Strange.

no, i don't think so.. if i recall correctly some wings have dents on the front because if the trunk is closed (or blown closed by the wind with a weak strut) then the little bar that matches up the lock, will hit the wing.

Extremely light weight. It's on the car now otherwise i would have weighed it.

The wing is basically foam internal and a very thin aluminium skin.

I would say no more than 2kg or about 5 pounds.

Major problem is that the aluminium oxidises due to moisture/condensation build up in the foam.

I had mine stripped to the metal. Then dried in an oven for about 3 months.
    Then we repaired the oxidation.

I just noticed a very small bubble...and it has only been 6 weeks since the repaint!
