I think you will find it is the same part (or very very similar) as that used on Ferrari's of the same vintage. Certainly the one in this toolkit is from a 308.

Sure does. I googled some 308 tool kits. It doesnt look like all have them. They seem to have varying styles

Ferrari one is 14mm across the hex, the early 308's had a T bar spark plug tool. The later tool is the one shown in the picture.

Is that 14mm on both sides of the tool?

No just 14mm across the hex (cannot rember the plug size), in the ferrari toolkit one of the spanners is a 14mm ring spanner to use the tool. To be honest looks good to have in the toolkit but in real terms better off with a T bar plug spanner.

If the 308 takes a 18mm hex spark plug, then that gives me more options. It does look like the same one. The tool is only for my tool kit completion. As all the other tools in the kit, they are the worst tools I have ever seen in my life!!!! Looks like they went to the dumpster in the local flea market to find them.

Ha ha, will check the part in my 308 and give you the exact dims. Yes the tools and the bag for the Countach are certainley not of the highest quality! I am just after the bulb holder and correct pliers to make my kit whole.

It appears the 14mm section is slightly shorter on the 308 tool. I would take one anyway if anyone knows where I could buy one. It is close enough....not like I am going to use it

Mine is also missing. Must be a stack of them someplace! LOL!!!

Did you get your new alternator yet? Curious how it looks compared to the old one. I'll pick one up too, if you are satisfied with yours.

Pulled the old one out last night, hope to install new one tonight. I will let you know. I am crossing my fingers. This is the last issue with the car that I am uncomfortable with.

Do all the mounting holes appear to line up? Same size as the old unit? I take it you'll have to remove the fan and belt cog to put on the new unit?

Just got done. Fits perfect, just change over the pulley, but........the unit only puts out 65a @ idle and 95 @ 3k RPM. I called them and he thinks they sent a stock replacement unit. They said he has to build one up and test to insure proper outut. He will at least refund the shipping. It will probably be another week or so before I have results :( On a positive note it does perform slightly better than the unit I took off.
