Could you help me clarify this? i get conflicting info trying to buy the rear pads rdstuff.

    I had this:
DP3104C EBC Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pads; Rear (matching the BMW front E23 breeak calipers)
DP3753/2C EBC Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pads; Front

but on buy site I get the inverse info.
What type did you have on yours since you used them?
    thks

The logos at the back are held in with plastic grommets/seals which are NLA - does anyone have a source for equivalent replacements?

My bull logo decided to set itself free today so I need to replace that but the seals that should have been there to hold it in never were there in the first place.

I would look at part number 326-650 from Moss Motors they also sell a metal version used on a different car for the trunk badges on a Triumph TR250. I don't know if it will work but for what it costs I would spend the money and buy both to find out.

    Cheers Jim

Thanks Jim - I'll try them when they open again - they're not currently taking orders :(

The metal one is part number 326-525. If you don't want to wait you can look up where these parts are used on Moss Motors and then check other British parts suppliers to see if they have them. I believe most part suppliers are open. I just used Moss because I find them the easiest to find what I am looking for.

    Cheers Jim

I'm looking around trying to find the nylon/plastic ones if I can, or I considered trying to thread the posts and use small washers and nuts on the inside. I ordered some from the UK that are for an Alfa Romeo that looked like they might fit, but then so did the BMW ones and they were way off. I'll keep searching.

That's a good idea. I had a TR4 & a TR3. Another possible place, is an automotive paint supply shop, which may or may not be open. I also had a 70 Mini Cooper & it used a similar fitting for the rear emblem.

    Mini Mania is still open.

    Rer brake work.
I am getting my new old stock APE calipers this coming week. Taking the old one out now to prep the work. Question on rear calipers removal. I need to take the upper and lower caliper 19mm bolts out. Should be simple but there is limited access into the wheel well for a long bar. What are the bolts torque? I cannot exert enough force using the wrench and I cannot find a position to put enough force due to constrained access there. It seems that I need an extension bar to free the bolts but there is not enough clearance to put a bar long enough. What do you guys use?
Additionally, I will use red stuff pad so the rear rotors will need to be turned or replaced. They are not bad, but these are new pads. The old one are at least 19 years old.
Anyone has a plug and play rotors references for both rears?

Thanks - I'll try them also. I have a few coming in from different places, so I'll report back if any fit well.

I did try from Scuderia Parts, and they reported that the factory said these were NLA, so unless Eurospares are sourcing theirs elsewhere I expect the same - but given the price (10x what everyone else charges) I expect they're factory sourced - and for 6 plastic grommets they add an additional $44 in freight.

Tarox make front and rear rotors fronts are 2 piece, rears one piece. Look on their website under classic section. Ref bolts spray them with penetrant, I think I ended up using electric impact driver to get one side loose.

thks again. Got them lose finally. was really tight and snug. took me 1h to get both. I had to slide under the car on my back to push/pull on the bolt. With my wrench only 1 position was working.
The pads look really good even being old. I wonder if I really should go thru the pad /rotor process now. I did see one pod on the driver side slightly leaking. thta is how I lost my fluid over the winter. So I could just swap the new caliper.

    UPDATE: GOT THE CAPLIPERS, BEAUTIFUL!

But the listed rear pads as 3104C are INCORRECT for a QV! indeed from your picts, the rears are listed as 3753c (you see it on your pict) and your measurements match. So some info circulating on the web are incorrect about EBC pad match

I may simply reuse my old stuff with the new calipers as they look pretty good anyway, no scoring or anything.
I was wondering how to fit the pins hodling the pads? there is a little clip on one end. Does this needs to be pressed and pushed in? I never did calipers with pins like this.

    Here are the calipers picts:

I am gonna beat that brake thing to death. At the end I wonder if getting the wildwood from Chad is not the best wat to go. I know there is an adaptor but these caliper are made of lead!

Anyone has reference of the 4 brake lines part 3208683 but made of stainless steel? I would feel bette than having top rely on my 20 year old rubber hoses..
I may also do a "how to" brake section when all done. Lots of incorrect info and it is scattered all over the place.
The price of a reman. calipers at italiancarparts is .. $790 and $65 more to plate for original finish!! That is $1700+tax for the pair! Ouch!!! That is ridiculous!! They are worth really $220 the pair.. new.

Yes it's more or less the same. The old parts live in a cardboard box can easily be 're fitted as no mods to any parts on the car.

If you can find them, I seem to remember that these may fit. I saved theses links from a discussion from years ago. Cross reference?
