Jay: Flatbed is the only way to go. When I had mine towed 3 years ago to have its new clutch installed, it was flatbedded. No issues at all. Arrived at the shop in perfect condition. Mike
Be more specific please. Like exactly how did they get the car on the flatbed? Where was the tow hitch attached? Is there a tow bar?
Mike did they need to use boards or planks of wood to make the transition onto the truck? Looks steep.
Nope, no ramps needed. In fact, the bed actually lowers down further than the photo shows, which makes the incline even less severe. Mike
Where did they attach the tow rope to the car? And how do you do that without ripping off the front valence?
Ive been towed twice; many years ago when a bearing gave out in the gearbox and more recently when the ignition coil failed. The Countach has 2 tow hooks underneath at the front (well mine does anyway, maybe earlier cars dont?) They are quite far back so you have to get your head right on the ground to see them. Both time we had no problems. The recovery company sent a truck where the back comes right off so the incline is very slight and the recovery guy just attached his tow cable to one of the hooks. We put a big foam pad between the cable and the underside of the front spoiler, most recovery trucks carry foam pads for this purpose. Then just very slowly winch the car on. Same story here , had mine flatbeded across the state for clutch and misc fun stuff, the driver had 2 wooden boards he put under the front wheels ,easy as 1 2 3 Same thing when it was delivered back to me. No worry be happy
Ive only had to tow my car once. Hes known in the bay area for Lambo towing and strapped the tires like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is one air conditioning condensor with 2 small fans ("radiators" for the air conditioning) in the front of the car. It is located just in front of the left side wheel well. The 2 engine radiators and engine oil cooler are located mid ship just behind the passenger compartment.
Unless you have a LP400 or LP400S or 5000S, then the oil cooler is mounted in the right front inner fender. Also the heater core is mounted there. Chadbourn Bolles 803 532 6257 email: [email protected]
So the heater core is mounted front right fender on LP400 and...? and AC condenser left front fender? U mean there's water hoses from back to front for the heater? Oil cooler in the back parallel to one of the water radiators? This heater inlet, looks like it is split in two... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Qv have oil cooler in the airscoop driver side (mounted in front of driverside radiator. And your ac lines run all the way from the compressor in he back of the engine (really front being that the engine is backwards) thru the driverside doorsills in to front compartement and conects to condenser / fan etc ,
Oil cooler and heater core mounted in right front fender. Also blower for heater is located there, REAL fun to get to, if you need to. Chadbourn Bolles 803 532 6257 email: [email protected]
Why is the clutch pedal heavy if it is operated hydraulically? and Between LP400 and Anniversary is there any improvement in this department?
ive seen flat beds that lift the whole bed-off to ground level, and some that lift all 4 wheels up and just pick up the whole car onto the flat bed
Back in 06 when i bought my Countach, i ended up getting a Factory Lamborghini uppgraded ignition box , dont have much info but acc to my guy at the dealer it was supplied as a replacement/uppgrade for faulty Countach ign boxes.Factory Lamborghini, Its a cast aluminum casing screwed to an aluminum plate, one single box as opposed to the original 2 piece magneti Marelli.also only halv the size. Never installed it in the car, being that my original boxes so far has worked just fine , but this system is very simple and clean looking , just vondered if any of you guys have any experience with the system ,
Part nmbr 001631621 cast alu Bull on the front with the nmbr 31621 casted in to the casing wil try to post a picture tomorrow , if my 10 year old will help me.
