I guess you won't be happy until they're all gone and we're left with a "wasteland" of Toyotas and Fords.
LOL, Joe, great pics. However I must admit...watching that LP cross those "pallets" and onto the truck gives me the shakes
We bring a few back to the States too.... I can think of a couple of Miura SVs, an LP400 etc. Joe www.joesackey.com
It has always lived in England. BTW Richard S's car was not originally orange at all. It was green. Joe www.joesackey.com
...and appears to be available along with his matching anniversary Countach if the listing on the ILR is current. Andy
I am pretty sure he knows that! btw., yesterday I had the opportunity to drive a 5000 QV. Very nice engine but when I remember my LP400 I have to say that the QV handled like a truck due to its fat wheels/tyres. The LP 400 is the much more nimble car and better aka precise with the steering. Ciao! Walter
Agree 100%, Lp400 is way more go kart fun to drive...love mine..if I had to choose, would keep it over the 5000 DD and the FI any day.
Walter, have you driven a low body S car? it to drives veeeery differently from the DD QV countach (steering, but not only) i had the chance to drive the 2 ,in the same day, and i can't believe how different the feel is: the lowbody feels light and nimble while the DD is powerfull and solid - glued to the road the DD had the stock muffler and i would dare to say it feels almost quiet and refined :-o with all that ground clearence, insulation, leather, space, different commands, ecc..... i love them both though and the low end torque of the DD is AWESOME (have you ever thought about an LP or early S with a DD engine....) i had not driven an LP yet, but it should be an other matter again
I find what really appeals with the LP400 is its purity, and maybe just knowing that its the original concept. Joe www.joesackey.com
Emilio - not sure if it was a low body S-car or not! OK, the S1- was perhaps much more cart-like -as Joe mentions above- but we have to keep in mind, that the additions (extendet wheel arches, rear spoiler, wider wheels and fat tyres, suspension made from steel) with the post-LP400`s took more weight on the cars. The LP 400 is not as glued on the road as the later cars and is "dancing" more on high speeds - its more race-car-like than with the later versions. The trick is to handle this and then the LP 400 is a pure delight to drive! Ciao! Walter
Walter, i had not driven an LP400 (yet ) and you are right: even the early S is something heavier than the LP (but not that much) i only wanted to say that not all countach after the LP400 have the same handling and driving-steering feel (Joe drove all and said the same) the S1-S2 are much lighter and nimble than DD QV: i really can say they can almost be considered different cars :-o i can say my car (without wing) is quite race-car-like and driving experience is IMO very close to what you said about the slim car ( while i felt the QV really solid and much glued) p.s. if we'll ever meet in italy you are welcome to drive the S1!
