Another Countach heading for restoration in the future is a 1979 LP400S Series 1 Lowbody (one of @ 50 built by the works), originally finished in Blu Acapulco (PPG 2463.924, metallic dark blue) with a Senape interior, new from the Sant Agata factory to VIP Lamborghini Concessionaire Achilli Motors in Milan. The car is here in the USA where it has lived for nearly all of it’s life in matching chassis/engine numbers status, disassembled and ready for a restoration, the body is in excellent corrosion and damage-free condition, and all components are present and accounted for. It will be the first Blue Acapulco S1 Lowbody to be fully restored in recent times Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Came across this the other day: https://russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/?show_vehicle=172017¤t_index=0&total_results=1&tsauction_id=199&=&caryear=0&caryearto=0&search_text=Countach&page=featured&showpage=1 Am very curious about the "Correct 'small' US bumpers" - I've never seen nor heard of them? And the engine - doesn't look like anything I've seen before either. Can anyone tell me about them?
LP500S modified by the USA concessionaire to meet EPA & DOT mandates with a Fuelie application, not a prototype. Never say never.

It's the now green car in the museum I found 2000 in Switzerland. The pre-production Prototype chassis 0001. Till the car got finally to Leimer in 1974 it underwent many changes to develop the final production features. Leimer sold her to Basel, I never saw her till 2000 although I lived only 10 Km away! But I know a person how got once a ride and complained about the noise and the heat inside - needless to say it was a woman...

What I read about it was grandpa bought the cars for his exotic rental car company many years ago, but when the insurance costs got too high he just stuck the cars in his garage rather than sell them. And that's where they are now.
