The vortech car- man that looked like a hot rod or kit to me then... I’m glad your friend bought it and changed it for the better. It received a lot of good praise on the web when the pictures were first posted in the new color (gas station setting).

  8. Saved from the listing.

The only one countach in the world.
Bravo Wheels,Electric big rear wing,Competition fire extinguishing system,Formula One steering wheel,Front impact bar,and no foglights.
Armin Johl and Fred personal Countach.

This special car has beautiful story.
As you could see it, the car made for Mr.Armin Johl who is Mr.Ferrucio Lamborghini's best friend.

One day, Mr.Valentino Balboni was riding Armin Johl's countach for test drive.
At that time a tructor thurusted into the road suddenly!
That countach couldn't stop and tried to avoid that tructor.
The countach stepped aside, and dropped down into a truck farm.
Finally, the countach was flipflop and dead.(Mr. valentino could escape anyway.)

Instead of that countach, Lamborghini made special countach for recompense.

    That is this special countach.

That's why the plate of printing words are "COSTRUZIONE SPECIARE PER L'AMICO ARMIN JOHL".

This car is based on countach series1 that means just only 50 cars in this world.

We have bundle of documents and pictures.Because of since 1981 to 1993, this car is in Arizona museum.
From 1994, Japanese owner had it.

Two words come to mind and they are Polo Storico.

FWIW this car has been for sale for 8 years, it's been offered to me intermittently since 2010 by the owner's son

A USA DOT modification done when the car came to the USA in 1981

i helped in the restoration on this LP400S series 2

engine and more mods of this car had been developed by its previous owner, a Formula 1 mecanic, during almost 10 years
believe me a lot of time, money and effort was spent on this engine and runs really good.
all the original parts to convert the engine back to original specs (including the 45 DCOE webers and air boxes) were bought and are ready to go on the car anytime owner would change his mind

when a decision had to be made on the car, owner went for a complete body and interior restoration and choose to keep the engine as it was
other mods preserved on the car were the upgraded brake calipers as well as the F1 removable steering wheel plate (an original LP400S wheel had been put instead of the modern unit in the car)

he choosed for interior and body the colors he loves most from the period shades available from factory
please not the interior has been done by the same guys that made them in period when the cars were born

there are many more interesting feautures on this car ..one day i will have to make a thread on it
is really something special Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wow... That would have to be about as good as it gets - and reaffirms (for me personally), that this is hands down the very best colour scheme for a Countach. Period.

Emilio, if ever you do manage to find the time to make a thread for this car, I would be extremely grateful!

You were lucky to have access to one as a young guy.. i would have killed for that. I got to see them once a year at the chicago auto show.. that was it! I have all the same books, minus 1, and they are always out on my shelf, along with my magazine holders.. amazingly i still have all my magazines from when i was a kid. How did we all become so obsessed with these cars? LOL

thank you all for the kind words

the car is really amazing, even more so in person
owner had not met one single person that did not compliment on how nice it is, not few said it is the most beautiful countach they have ever seen
both me and owner wondered about what to do with it and what mods retain and which to revert back to originals, then the colors choice for body, leather, dash and carpets - wing or no wing..which wing- stereo or no stereo..which stereo, which exhaust, where to fit additional gauges for boost and more....etc etc...

it has been a long but fascinating journey and the closer we were to the end, the more we were satisfied with the result

i am very happy you like it to :)

It is fantastic looking. Countach really shows well in these non typical colors. Int contrast perfect to the green. A tad of Aston. In a good way.

This is how the mirrors should look on any Countach. Superior to original!
