What Lamborghini pulls a crowd like a Countach?

    Nothing IMO.

Not your Miuras, Diablos, Murcielagos or Aventadors.

Men & women, young & old, are drawn to this automotive wild-child like bees to honey, the Countach has that indefinable allure, automotive lightning in a bottle

....and in particular in Germay where we have lots of opportunities to drive these kind of cars at high speeds without being gunned by the law...!

Sadly, wasn't it determined that a Ferrari 12cylinder was dubbed in? Plus there were some issues with the restorer during the restoration years ago...…I do not know how it all turned out. Had hoped the owner would tell any story there may have been.

Who determined that it was a Ferrari 12 cylinder dubbed in, isn't that just an often-repeated unsubstantiated story?

What issues happened with the restorer during the restoration year ago, wasn't the owner a friend of the restorer, isn't this also an unsubstantiated story?

Not to give you a hard time as I have also independently heard the same claims, none of which have ever been substantiated AFAIK, all-too often the tendency is to parrot something that's basically a story.

That said I'd be curious to learn what the facts are.

In Germany and in some other places besides opportunities to drive these cars as they should be driven are a blessing, but I was speaking to the effect of the Countach upon people who encounter it at standstill.

There are parts that are definitely not dubbed, and times in the movie where I do question the sound.

I don't remember any issues with the restoration of the Cannonball car, only the silver pawnshop car.

So that was a question. Wasn't it discussed that it was a V-12 Ferrari? I do not know, I am asking. I remember reading it. Who has a verified answer either way? So, until there is an answer, yes, unsubstantiated. I am siding with Lamborghini at redline.

"none of which have ever been substantiated AFAIK" Publicly? Correct. There are 2 others privately.....anyway, as far as I know, they do not work on them anymore, so there is no reason to dredge it up again. It's over and Countachs don't have to be scared anymore.

  14. I agree on the sound. Back when the car was being restored Tony was going to do a sound track on it & never did. I'm skeptical on the opening of the movie. I don't remember any restoration problems on the Cannonball car, but yes the silver car was a painful restoration.

oh, poor Brian.......brutal restoration. When we spoke, I encouraged him to tell his story. Stand up guy for moving on from it instead. Not up to me to give examples.

Exactly, they have a number of great of options.

Two things worth considering are, firstly, the sound can be 'enhanced' for film which will make it sound somewhat different, especially as recorded @ high revs, and secondly, I believe the Cannonball Countach's unique 6-pipe/12-tip custom exhaust emits a somewhat different sound from what we are used to.

Would be very cool if the owner re-created the opening scene for the 40th anniversary in 2021. I certainly would want to if I owned the car.

Is the car still with the same owner? He has both the Cannonball car and Dumb and Dumber Diablo, correct?

I am returning my 87 QV wheels back to the factory original gold color.
Were the Ruote O.Z. stickers applied after all finishes to the wheel were complete, or installed and then cleared over.

The Ruote OZ stickers were applied directly on to the completed wheel, they were not clear-coated over.
