Had an interesting failure of the rev counter, basically what had happened is that the needle had got below the stop (guess through warping) and would only move to the stop at about 500RPM, all it took was a gently shake with the rev counter out to get it back over the stop and all is good again.
ELA12674 should do well under those circumstances. It will happen again unless you get the needle straightened.
Will be getting unit rebuilt, but just got to find somewhere in the UK that can be trusted to do the work, for now happy that the problem is fixed, will also get the speedo done at the same time as that needle is also warped.
I had both the tach and speedometer orange plastic needles replaced with orange aluminum needles. All the plastic ones warp over time. Change the original dash cluster bulbs to LEDs when you upgrade the needles, the difference is night and day.
I can only confirm, LED's are like day and night: http://www.countach.ch/Dashboard/index.html and the instruments needle a huge problem over time, #GLA12927 had the same issue.
It makes perfect sense to do both the needles and the LED lights, and yes, the difference is indeed night and day, when I drive the car at night I could actually see what's going on! We took care of it during the car's restoration.

Japan? I think I recognise a number of them (the champagne DD and the modified red Anniversario are definitely Japanese cars. Pretty sure the chrome wrapped one is, too, as well as the pair of striped LP500S). Love to see more of the dark green DD - looks dark enough to be Verde Hydra, perhaps? (in which case, it would likely be a respray)
Here's more of the green QV in Japan. Not the original color, but well, only one QV was ever ordered in green... Malcolm Forbes' HLA12081. That one seems to be Verde Hydra or something very similar indeed. I love it too! sold a Champagne DD to Japan around 10 years ago or so. Does anyone know how many Champagne DD's where made?
