The pearl white paint on the sides of the car is not original. However the interior has a blue dashboard, blue door panels, blue center console etc even though the seats have white inserts. I would not be surprised if the white seat inserts are original, and the records clerk simply didn't write it down. Ive seen that before with Lamborghini records.
The LP400 is an icon, but also a 5000S with a nice colour combination can be a nice car although it - like the QV - stands "too high on the road", compared to the early lowbodies.
Seller claims "The "lovely" blue and white paint scheme was ordered by the prince to match his yacht. The paintwork was done by Claudio Zampoli".
The owner of the car gave me a verbal dressing down at Monterey week in 2007 when i dared to take a photo of his car, he even demanded i deleted the photo immediately, not the sort of friendly car enthusiast one usually meets at such events, its a shame such people own such lovely machines, and dont come the privacy argument on this one the guy was at Monterey during show week. One has to expect car enthusiasts and photographers if you dont like it why show up at Concorso??

NICE!....has the 'euro' rear, but PLEEEEASE address the front of that masterpiece!!! (edit; remove nasty front US BUMPER!!)
Sorry to hear that Alan. He must have been having an awful bad day, because he does bring the car out and share it, and there are pics of it by different people all over the internet.
You're right Joe. This car has been photographed and shown many times. I don't know who this is specifically, but while in Monterey, a few of us caught a couple of photographers making a big deal about photographing both the VIN and the license plate. They were of a demeanor to make us slightly nervous. I apologize if we offended any true car enthusiast. The vibe we caught from a few of the "photographers" was more of the "will anything still be left in my house after they find out where I live" type. So it make us nervous anytime someone took a picture that obviously could have included the plate.
Yeah i realise we all have bad days, im sure he is ok really, but i was quite shocked at the time as i am not at all the pushy invasive type of photographer. As for chassis numbers / plates they are not things that float my boat, although i know the plate issue is something that will roll on for ever, as its one of those things that people can get quite touchy over.
Thank you for the apology! None needed really, i think i must have caught you both at a bad time , as just as i took the photo i heard someone in your group talking of some pushy people who had been hassling you, i think your husband must have assumed he meant me, because thats when he turned! Any how nice to know you are car people afterall.
Thanks for the compliment and I agree that the right color combination can really make a car stand out. Mine is black with tan interior and looks rather handsome especially after I spend all day cleaning and detailing it. I'm looking forward to how it's going to look with the rear wing and the U.S bumper removed to show the trapezoidal tail lights. It does sit rather high compared to the lowbody cars which look awesome. This fact makes it a bit more practical for it here in California as I will be driving it fairly regularly when it's done.
