Only two LP400s have this trim, 1121312 and 1121314, the famous two pace cars of Patrick and Claude Mimran.
If the factory belongs you, you can oder what you want, or in case of the Mimrans their cars got features which made it later into regular production.
Have never seen this image of the LP500 Prototype by MIRA minutes before it was destroyed. "Here’s the original photographs from our testing of the @lamborghini Countach back in March 1974 in our crash lab. The Countach was an enduring success for Lamborghini and was produced in various versions from 1974 to 1990" Image Unavailable, Please Login
I too have not seen this pic before and it fills me with sadness. We all know this test was necessary at the time but the staff would not have known the subsequent importance of this car , and how many of us wish it still existed. But thanks Joe , amazing photo.
Pretty amazing that they would serve this specific car up for testing. You would have thought they would have had another option for such a purpose. It doesn’t even take hindsight to see that. Very unfortunate.
Production-Prototype 1120001 in the factory museum after I found her in 2000 in the yahoo auction and the factory bought in 2001.
There are plenty around, just search for them. Or visit my homepage: http://www.countach.ch/History/LP400/index.html
Hi Raymond, is the story of your find and Lambo’s purchase documented somewhere? I’m sure it will an interesting read. Regards Rob
Hi Rob, it is, in german car Magazin Auto Bild https://www.autobild.de/klassik/artikel/lamborghini-countach-der-urahn-2144564.html and Kaare Byberg once made also an article, interviewing me (and of course Vale) https://coreofcars.com/2015/11/30/finding-the-oldest-existing-lamborghini-countach/
Thank you Stephen, this image is from MIRA's archives. It was sacrificed so that your beautiful LP400 could live
The pictures from the Mira archive were posted in Facebook in November 2018, can't remember by whom, most likely Victor.
