I think the critical difference is, 3781 was entirely a factory built Speciale, as were the Wolf Countachs.

This Countach on the other hand is a non-factory privateer custom modification.

He disclosed the stories of his cars in his facebook profile.
IME it doesn't make a difference whether the factory modified the one or another Company another.
Both cars came out of the factory as standard cars and were modified years later to match Heinz's wishes.
So treat them both as modified cars as Heinz sold them or convert both back to original as initially produced in the factory.

    Ray,

the difference between Heinz's Countach vs his Miura #3781 & WOLF Countach : they were not tuned/modified in Luxembourg… that's the Reason why his exS1 deserves to be restored back to original guise… as it is not a period historical Bull...

Finally somebody said it out loud!
Leave this car alone, let it exist as is, Countach SV downdraft, drive it on weekends or to party at night!
As an Italian super car is meant to be!

Miura SVR #5084 was modified to Heinz Steber spec at the factory between 1975 and 1976 with Heinz himself working on it with the Lambo workers at some point.
Not entirely, some tuning were done outside.

From Heinz' Facebook Page, as per his writing it might be that the LP5000s was derived from his engine, never heard of this but as we know not uncommon that Client modifications went into production...

at this point i would remove the OZ wheels that has nothing to do with and put back the old custom BBS
as it is today...is a weird hybrid btw Steber spec and "wannabestock" spec :)

    Emilio. Stop it.

Where are you getting your hot-rodding inclinations from? ;)

This car should go to back to Lamborghini SpA's Polo Storico for a full restoration back to the rare Blu Acapulco LP400S S1 Lowbody complete with Bravo wheels which it's maker's intended it to be, lets show the original artisans some respect, please.

I absolutely do not agree with Joe in this point.
Interesting enough - nobody wants that the modification Dallara did were turned back, but on 1078 you want to - because not done by the factory.
Both of Heinz' Lambos left the factory as standard production cars, both were modified years later on his request - so accept both as what they are.

Yes but 3781 was done by the factory and finally left the factory the way it is as an SVR as was much documented even though it was later, I think the distinct preference in the market is for whatever guise the left the factory in.

The factory guise is always a nod of respect to the original artisans, and I understand that Polo Storico will now only restore to final factory spec.

That said, the owner is free to of course do whatever they want, that much is always understood.

Do you really believe that they would tell the owner of 3781 they restore it only to factory specs, means a pure boring Miura S, or they would detune Silveira's LP400, because Dallara did the Tuning?

In the end money tells what they do, nothing else.

LOL, I understand completely what you mean, and I agree there is no right way to do this, only the owner's way.

That said, the principle you are having trouble with is, 3871 was made an SVR by the factory themselves so the car is accepted because this was it's final factory specification so Polo Storico restored it as such. The SVR guise is factory specs for that particular car.

Our former 1120056 was tuned by Dallara acting as a sublet agent for Lamborghini and Albert Silveira took delivery of it at the factory, as invoiced by Automobili Lamborghini SpA, just as he did his Miura SVJ 4990 and LP400 Speciale 11202020.

It comes down to the final guise the car left the factory.

With this side of the topic, I personally agree with Joe.

And thus, for example, I believe LP400 #1120062 should be restored to this funky spec as its Saudi owner wanted it back then!
Yes, another factory-made killer combo Countach!

That is so cool! For those of you who don't know, Alvarado Street Brewery is in Monterey, just a couple blocks down from the Portola Hotel where RM holds its auction every summer...the same place where the (Porsche/VW?) Type 64 was auctioned, the GTO sold for 48MM, etc. So cool for them to play homage to the collector car community by selecting one of the best models out there!
