Bought and treasured this magazine in 1983, it cost a fortune at the time. When you consider that other magazines of the era cost 50p!! It was worth every penny, adored this Countach and spent hours staring at the pictures. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
#1121320? That is a Countach in a colour scheme I would love to see in person (as it was for those pictures, anyway). "Oro Longchamps" (I think?), over gold wheels and tan interior, but the body coloured 'flag' mirrors add an intriguing element to its overall look.
Yes it’s that car and it was Oro Met Longchamps indeed before it changed colour a few times. I don’t think the wheels are gold, also I don’t think the interior is tan.. but the mirrors are awesome!!
You are probably correct about the interior - I said tan, but in all honesty I do not think that is the correct word to describe it. However, I have a copy of another photograph of the car (taken in the UK somewhere), and it definitely had gold wheels: Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry, I cannot credit this picture properly, as I do not know from where it originated. I pulled it from this thread some time ago.
The technical name for “beige” or “tan” leather in later Countach variants was “champagne” (for example on my 1985 QV downdraft). But, it seems the color tone on earlier variants was much darker, almost a light brown.
blimey. I don’t know. They certainly were silver! Difficult to tell in a photo! Some more shots. Credit to Supercar Nostalgia for most of them Image Unavailable, Please Login ... They are very definitely silver in one of those pictures. I wonder what it left the factory with. In my opinion, it looks far better with gold wheels against the Oro Longchamps than it does with silver.
Respectfully, please do not copy and paste photographs from my website without request https://supercarnostalgia.com/ My material is free of charge for anyone to read so please just provide a link. 112130 is pictured here brand new with gold wheels: https://supercarnostalgia.com/blog/lamborghini-countach-lp400-s-chassis-1121320 Thank you. So much better when Steve Ashton took the wing off, I saw it in action at both Goodwood and Castle Combe.
Does anyone know how many 5000S were delivered from new in pearlescent white? I heard there is an example in Germany around too? Any informations about it?
There are 2 which I know if in the USA, I used to own one and the other was owned by Joe Nastasi for 25 years until I purchased it from hm for a client, there may be more, sorry I'm not much help with the cars in Germany.
Very very few... I counted only 2 or 3 of them so far. I'd say less than 5... just guessing. FYI, 85 of the 321 5000S were white (and including some rare pearl-white). When I looked at the factory archives last year, they didn't even have marked what kind of white it was... 84 "Bianco" and 1 "Bianco Special". But the 2 cars Joe just mentioned belong to it for sure. I have the VINs of those 2 if you need.
One of them is known to me too. Some time ago there was a restoration thread about this particular car if i remember correctly. The other car would be interesting!
