Having provided the factory the opportunity to acquire this unique car almost 20 years ago, I can only say - finally and more than needed!
Aluminum dash? We could only be so lucky to have that! Now going to wonder who'll be the first to fabricate aluminum dash during THEIR restoration Thanks for posting that.

Aluminum is often used in prototypes because it's so malleable, in order to establish form which is sometimes then produced in composite materials. Did you know one of the Prototype F40s (as I posted in my F40 Prototype thread) had an aluminum body? Prototypes in general are fascinating because they reveal the maker's thought process. Anyway, for years I had lamented how 1120001 had been neglected in modified form, and finally the factory is acknowledging not only this famed Countach but all Countachs with it's preservation to original specification. This is also a nod of recognition to all those who respect the maker's original guise, the right way to go IMO.
Not too surprising considering that early Miura dashes were made from steel, so seems like a Lamborghini trait used on early/prototype cars.
The Millenium Falcon interior of the prototype is amazing, especially those seats. Great to see that car is finally getting the love it deserves.
I inspected the car after the interior restoration in Italy and i was very pleased with the result. Good quality and the colour looks like a great match!
I always wondered why anyone would take a very unique factory original color and replace it with a common one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
