Ciao tutti! I took this picture in 1990 at Circuit Zandvoort. Francois Koopal, owner of Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole HLA12158 got stranded just before the famous “Tarzan” curve. Lamborghini dealer Sjaak van Vliet came to the resque, solved the problem, and Francois was soon on his way to have fun with the Countach on track! Very cool car, we recently purchased it and have brought it to Miami. The engine is off to Italy to Top Motors for a complete rebuild. The interior is absolutely incredible.
Last weekend I visited the Techno Classica in Essen, Germany. For me THE car of the show was this very low body Countach LP400 S ! Car was offered for sale by Klima-Lounge, and shown to me by the ever charming and enthusiastic Fabio Lamborghini! This yellow Countach 25th Anniversary was often seen in Monaco and the Cotes d’Azur some 10 years ago. Car is registered in Turin, Italy. Yes, that pearl white Walter Lais car was really stunning! I had that magazine as well. When I took the pictures of the car in yellow in 1990 I really had no idea that it was the ex Lais car. Found that out many years later. That is the fun part of investigating Countach history ;-)
