1120200 in its pearl white guise had quite an impact on me also (in pictures only - sadly, I never saw the actual car), to the extent that I recently commissioned a series of 1:43 scale hand built models of it as it was then. Make Up Co. are renowned world wide for the level of detail and build quality (especially paint finish), of their models - at such a reasonable price.
Even though I do not see an anniversary year, I will order a red one just to be close and have one Seems too good to pass up
Make Up Co. did produce a run of Anniversarios a while back (but finding one now may prove tedious...), with two red versions; red over black with rear wing [EM219A] and red over tan without wing [EM219G]. There was also a red wingless version with red wheel centres, but that one is quite rare. It is very possible Make Up Co. will do a re-run of 25th's in the future, but I have no idea when.
Another update on the www.countach-register.com Fantastic pictures of the Acapulco Bleu Countach LP400 S Series 1 low body owned by Fred Johl, including this one, with a young Valentino Balboni. Picture is taken in May 1981 during an ILOC meeting in Bad Dürkheim, Germany. Ciao! Marcel Image Unavailable, Please Login
Keep up the good work with the Register which is a priceless contribution to the history of these cars, as regards 1121090, Fred Johl told me how he had to pay Hubert Hahne cash for the car even before it was completed!
Thanks Joe! Does anybody know the VIN of this car? 1979 white/black. Was in the USA, now in Belgium. This one is giving me headaches ;-)
I think 1989. A good candidate might be 1121050. That would be the ex Blatzheim car..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe so, George Stauffer acquired 1121050 in California so that theory makes sense, however I believe 1050 is now in the Far East and not in Belgium?
Correct, in Japan nowadays, but it looks like that car was in Belgium before that. Here it is, car on the right.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
