1074 (below) was not in the USA in 1989 and AFAIK never was. Also at the time of the 1989 Rex Motors Ad, 1074 had by then changed it's blue & white interior clearly seen in the October 1981 Sport Fahrer to an all-white interior, whereas as we can see the interior in the 1989 Rex Motors car is all-dark, possibly dark blue but more likely all-black. So too, from 1980 onwards 1074 had smooth white-painted Campagnolo wheels not silver Bravos, and, 1074 firstly had Vitaloni Sebrings then later Vitaloni Californians by 1989, whereas the Rex Motors car had Vitaloni Turbos by 1989. Lastly, the Rex Motors car had USA DOT side-markers, AFAIK 1074 has never had these. Conclusion, the Rex Motors Ad car cannot be 1074. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi guys, I have a question for all USA Countach spotters. Is it correct that Walter Payton's 1984 5000 S was dark blue? And if yes, could it be that the car was FLA12778? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Payton's Countach LP500S was definitely Bleu Acapluco just as FLA12778 which we sold was, but wether we are talking about the same car I cannot say.
Of course, it's been a decade or so but Mel told me his Countach was quite low mileage and if I recall correctly its an LP400S S3.

I had time to check my archives, 1121192 was completed on July the 4th 1980 and shipped to Achilli Motors in Milan. However it's completion color is listed in the factory records as Bleu Metallizzato 2.463.643, not Bleu Acapulco 2.463.924 or Bleu Notte 2.443.681, all three of which are similar.
Yes but 1192 is not a S3, but an S2. Which means lowbody. But from photos, it looks quite like a "highbody". At least on post 28107.
Yeah it's Mal, easy mistake to make. He's had pretty much every classic British car go through his hands, plus most American styles with a few Italian ones inbetween! He had been in the Car business for over 60 years. He's swapped cars for whole rows of streets that he's owned, for a Kayak, for expensive watches and all sorts. A very clever, entrepreneurial man with a tonne of stories and everyone that's ever spoken to him remembers him!
The mistake that I was thinking that Joe may have made was him thinking that Mel (Melvyn) Farrar still owned Miura S #4256, who also died quite recently, and a Countach.
