Duud is not a bad thing. Read your article, not sure i agree on all points. But thanks for the effort
Welcome Tony. I appreciate the effort that anyone puts into the Countach market. May I ask how your data was deduced? My regards Rob
I think the state of the economy plays, together with a generational shift in collectors is playing a much larger role in the staggering, melt-up price hike we've seen so far. Look at F50s or EB110s, only a few years ago, you could have called these unloved. Nothing wrong with the Countach surfing that wave. If someone can source me a skirted, US-spec, non-serviced, resprayed 5000S with the wrong wheels at $50K, I'll take two
I feel the pulse. If you Google "Dupont registry success" it will explain better than I can type it out. I'm dyslexic AF and not even sure if you guys see my replies, I'm not familiar with forums. . lol sorry guys.
interesting to read and i agree collectors want original today, but: 5000s does not have 455 hp but 375, this is a fact and not an opinion imo the 5000s it is not the GOAT countach: it is not the rarest it is not the nicest it is not the most powerfull it is not the most pure it is not ther first and not the last the 5000s was a great value for money countach...when it was 300-400k and is a good countach with a lot of pros but the goat? i do not think so one auction sale does not make an LP5000s carbed worth more than a QV carbed or an LP400S S1 imo i think this moment is "countach crazy time" we see a lot of people tryng to buy one whenever the model when things will get "quieter" i think we will see some versions prices split from the rest (as usual) my bets: lowbody cars and QV carbed over the rest
one more thing lately i do only see articles on values, auctions, bids, sales.... while i understand the prices are important to keep the classics alive and all we, as countach owners, are probably happy to see these cars getting the recognition ($) they deserve, there is something more about classic cars than their value when all the posts and talk is about money things are not getting in the right direction imo...remember 1991?
I agree, its not the GOAT. We were referring to an article we wrote a few days earlier. About the Downdraft or the S1, which is the GOAT. I cant figure out if I"m replying to the right post. Sorry
The chart is a guide that works for us. Keep in mind its been updated, such as (Don't apply if sub $500K). You have to be reasonable too. Feel free to check the updated chart. Rule #1 You don't Stack every valuable. Rule #2 Be mindful of the basement value You have to make it make sense as well which takes decision making. I hope that helps. 21 cars bought and sold using this formula over the years. The chart has never been fixed and changes with the market.
