    Agreed.

For the car's to have future desire, they have to be driven, be seen being driven, be filmed being driven, and be written about in magazine articles showing them being driven. This is how desirability is sustained long-term, otherwise they become investment objects, interest in which won't be sustained from one generation to the next because the passion is diminished as is often the case when ownership becomes mostly about it's investment potential and most of the cars have reverted to being redundant trailer or garage queens. This is why driving events with other classics and Supercars are important, and a focus on periodic reunions amongst cars of the same make or model (such as the Countach Rally) where the cars are driven are important. This ethos was why it was so important to have the new P7 made, so the cars could be driven, not to make them more valuable.

If you look at some of the most valuable sports cars of time such as the 250 GTO and Mc Laren F1, their owners get together periodically to drive them, and that's their focus, and the values follow their passion.

    i agree

the fun part is to drive them, drive with friends, attend meeting, go to dinner, chat with other car guys when you park these etc ...
it is amazing the amount of people that love to see these cars being driven on the road

you drive a countach, stop for refuel and someone says "congrats, it is my fav car!"
same with diablos or murcielago ...lambos often win People's Choice Awards

i try to drive all the lambos when i can, even the 1 owner cars need to be driven to stay in good working conditions

An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

True words. But one of the most important points is: Show the cars to our next generation. If they don´t have any connection to these incredible cars anymore, who will take care of them?!

What did the S1 car sell for at Sackey & Co? I watched it and it ended at $875k but never said if it sold or not. I figured that car to do $1.1M - $1.3M

$875k high bid with 2 potential deals in the works.

The car has lots of cosmetic patina that needs addressing, otherwise it's possible it would have brought more.

Very important point, we've always made a habit of involving the kids with the cars https://www.instagram.com/p/B_HIYnElS1u/ nowadays with all the things there are to distract them they are not naturally predisposed to being interested in classic cars, but they quickly become fascinated with them if you take the time to share and encourage their interest.

One thing about the Countach market which I have said many times before is it's always in a state of flux, that's my experience as an owner for 35 years from the time when they were still making them through all the world's ups & downs to the present day.

The GOAT expression is redundant because all the variants from LP400 to 25th have their strengths and weaknesses. If you recall not too long ago LP400 were the only variant that routinely brought over a million dollars with some selling at auction as high as $1.8m, lately, they seem to have fallen out of favor a bit partially because many of the cars that have come up for sale are not great examples, and partially because a younger group of buyers has engaged the model and seeks more powerful variants such as the Downdraft. But who's to say they won't return as the pure original to be the market leader again? Or that the LP400S wont emerge as the market leader. Always in a state of flux is the key to the Countach market, and the market shows how all the variants have appeal to different people for different reasons.

I don´t speak about you in particular, i meant it generally that we need to share it more with younger generations.

I've always been a fan of the QV's. I think that the 80's cars are eventually going to bring the most money. I get the production numbers and purists on the early cars, but the car is best known as a symbol of the excesses of the 80's, the poster car. No one had a poster of a LP400 on their wall....it was always the 5000S or QV. I believe the 5000QVs to be the most powerful, highest quality, and most desirable of the cars made. There will be a market and fans of all editions, but I think that the QVs will be the king. Personally, I like the FI cars for drivability, but I think that the DD, despite its higher production, will come out on top.

Totally agree, I like the original LP400 but the Countach went to a whole new level when it got the flares and wing. It may not have been the original super car but it perfected the term and created the mould that most super car producers now try to emulate including Lamborghini but I don’t think they have the same shock value that the Countach had or has!

The image was taken in 1995, see the image date mark.

KLA12903 is a very well-known 25th Annivesario, one that I was quite familiar with as it belonged to my neighbor Ali Taefi, of Earlgate Properties, London.

This is the same gentleman who owned the Bleu Acapulco Downdraft GLA12942 we sold previously, circa 1988 to 1991 in London I shared an underground car park with him and he had this 25th parked next to his metallic blue Rolls Royce Corniche. He used his Countachs as everyday cars, here it is below parked outside his office in Maida Vale W9 on a rare occasion when it was actually clean, image courtesy of Supercar Nostalgia.

Hi guys, I have a question - has anyone gotten a ceramic coating on their Countach? I've heard mixed things about coating single stage paint and paint correcting a Countach. It's tough to decipher who knows what they are talking about and who is just talking. Any feedback is appreciated.

Not a great idea on a classic car with single-stage paint especially one with with body panels separated by silicone seams IMO. If you have an incident or accident and the car needs repair, the only way to get that indestructible layer off the paint is to sand/machine it off at significant risk which could lead to the need to repaint the whole car. Ditto if blemishes appear in the finish. Much better to simply repaint the front bumper/spoiler or rear wheel spats periodically as road rash accumulates.
