Was hoping for a comment from the knowledgeable folk on here re the auction the Rod Stewarts LP400?

What do you mean? I think it was supposed to go up the block for the Retromobile Paris auction in 2023, but was not yet ready from restoration (returning it back to semi-original). Was offered in a later auction but did not fetch a whole great amount. It is a bit of a storied car, with multiple LHD/RHD-swapping and of course the Mardikian style targa with which it became famous now discarded.

 

Basically this "Restoration" destroyed the entire history and was even not executed properly.

 

If I was shopping for an LP400, this example would not be in my top 100 of candidates
