Is that "Cannonball" front wing preventing the Countach from taking off,
like this Countach yesterday ;-) ??

To me these 'flag' mirrors detract a little from the car's 'flowing' design -- i.e. they are not inspiring a feeling of speed or the front wedge-like shape/design. I think the other ones which are a little more swept back conform more to the body...

My Urraco did the same when letting off the gas - the headers were cracked. Repaced the 4 into 1 headers and it no longer flamed.... too bad it was fantastic - especially in the tunnels!

All V8's spite small purple flames with the open Ansa exhaust, the original countach muffler keeps them inside, only with the Ansa style you can see them.

The rivet-bearing seam along the bottom of the sill is a tell-tale sign of a repaint, as many forget to apply the blackout after the repaint - mask & shoot, its a very simple job. The factory always had the blackout in place.

Also, the driving lamps are no longer the original Carello units. I think you can still get Carellos from some sources, but Ive seen other earlier cars such as this go away from the fluted lenses of the original Carellos, to the clear lens units as used by the Annivesarios.

yep, i know and all true

it also had 225 front pirelli, 5000 window handles on the interior and the dash was mouse hair on the up and leather on the front (...that i never seen on any other S car....i do not think it was original to)
the paint job was also nice but not the BEST i have ever seen

i sold some carellos around the globe for countach and sil. restos and they are still "available" with some luck in Italy

aniway the car was a good restored example of a late 400S with proper rims, badges, wing, etc.... and some minor faults easy to correct

FLA12795 is the last 2V FLA12794 is a black 2V that Joe Frazer has/had for sale.

I heard that these FI 2V's were not so good as far as HP.

Can anyone tell me how good or not good these really are?.

I don't know the HP numbers mine had, but I bought a 2V FI car (ELA12784) with a custom exhaust thru Bobileff, and it ran very strong. Nothing wrong with FI if tuned properly - race cars have been using it since the 50s. The main problem with the US cars is they were detuned and saddled with cats for emissions purposes.

I can confirm that my car is a dream to drive. I wanted FI when I went Countach shopping. The idea of fooling around with 6 weber carbs on a hot day did not appeal to me. My logic was if Ferrari got it so right with the Testarossa's I had, the Countach could not be much different. The car starts perfectly cold, hot, even after sitting for a couple weeks I swear the motor turns over 1/2 of a full revolution and is running "perfectly". I don't know if I buy all the stories about them being soooo much slower. No question a QV will get off the line faster and the carb cars sound a little more agressive. I would hardly call a Countach a record setting performance car in this day and age.

This past Sunday I was watching my 1 1/2 year old son and we had cabin fever so I pulled his car seat out of moms Volvo and strapped it in the Countach. Mom was not very happy about that. We had a blast. You should have seen the people at the red lights seeing a kid in a car seat in a Countach. I did not get a picture but will next time.

Yes the car is for sale. I have the Urraco, Jalpa, Countach, and 914-6 and no time to drive them like I did in my pre kid days.

I hope these 2 photos show up.

I am having a hard time looking at these photos. With a couple of employees looking with me, one of which had a C-6 briefly...........
    .....THE DAMN SIZE DIFFERENCE!
It's just not right, is it? The CT looks like it could be a kids toy.

That's a cool pic of your son with your car. He's almost 2 in that pic? He's a little guy!

Mine refuses to ride in his baby seat when I take him out he wants to shift gears for me.

Of course I go slow and only drive around the block.

My wife actually loves it when I take my son out for a ride he's 23 months old and has been riding in my car(s) since he was about 7 months old.

Every day I get daddy daddy beep beep shoes shoes vroom vroom. As soon as he starts with the shoes shoes vroom vroom I stop whatever I'm doing no matter what it is get his racing shoes on and we go riding in whatever car he just happens to point to.

It seems like every day he wants to go for a ride in something else!

Joe if I didn't piss you off, I'll be driving thru to go pick up my boat within the next couple to three weeks I'd like to take a look at your car.

By the time I look at your car I would have already looked at two other QV's in FL so I'll have a better feel for your 2V.

I'm also going to look at Brian's car just to get a feel what a 2V carb feels like.

Remember I'm not the one that put your car down, I'm just going by what others that deal in these cars every day tell me.

I hope my offer was not insulting?

Peter that's nuts! The Ferraris look almost twice the size the C-6 looks like a monster next to the CT.

By the way do you own that Copper CT? Nice!

It's a flat out blast selling something. Sit tight Jfrazar, you have a VERY nice Countach that has been kept up. triple-x out of respect use the pm function for tire kicking, when it's your turn to sell something expensive you will appreciate it.

I doubt if I'll ever have my turn thank goodness.

I have a very supportive wife that actually enjoys my cars sio she'll never be the reason for me to sell.

My plan is to give my son all my cars in time.

As he does something great in life he gets one.

For example.... When he was born that to me was great!

So...... He got my 88 Euro ///M5 Dinan 1 of 3 that I've owned since new.

The only car he's not going to get while I'm alive will be my 914-6GT he's going to have to wait til daddy hangs up his shoes for that one.

Joe has to realize that there are many good cars out there and everyone is fighting with eachother to sell them.

For your sake I hope he can hang on, but in my opinion the market is going to get far worse before it gets better.

Maybe I should be the one that holds on for at least another year.

    Gotta start somewhere?
