M.J.'s stratos was indeed a replica, an other one was built in UK few years ago countach LP500 was believed to by just an other bertone show car at launch...luckily it was not the case and with some mods it found its way on supercar's history!
Lol, it took a while before i understood your post. Even the sign at the PERISCOPA at Goodwood is wrong. BTW, im i correct that most of thoose cars that has been going thru a quick non original renovation ends up at the market very soon?
Hi Joe, this link shows a 25th with the leather buckets seats options... http://fr.autoscout24.be/Details.aspx?id=165308240 Any information about it is welcome, if someone is close to Affolter - Porrentury, I will appreciate a full report PM to me including pictures/VIN/mileage as I spoke to owner, clever guy...but he doesn't give info by phone... I need to do the trip to CH in order to collect informations, I don't have the time right now untill my october trip to Padova exhibition...
In have a german friend who whats to sell his black/black 25th as well, the car has already my ignition box and runs strong, the steering wheel of that car looks less abused although it covered almost 70t Km. I can send you the contact if you are interested in that car, pro: it's a european car, so no more import taxes to belgium. http://www.countach.ch/MSD/index.html
Correct me if I'm wrong but periscopio was only in referrance to the countaches with the "periscope" style rear view capability (that extra little window in the roof for rearward vision through the rearview mirror) cheers Bri
who knows? it is not an official name (as SV, Lp, etc..) it is a name given by entuxiasts so whatever you feel it is right
Periscopio is correct, and Periscopa is just a nickname or moniker used in more recent times. Some refer to it simply as the "Periscope Countach". It will always be the LP400, the model's official designation. To answer brianp_is' post, the original LP500 had a rather inefficient 'Periscope' capability by use of the the rear view mirror viewing rearwards thru the roof 'tunnel', but naturally, visibility was hopelessly restricted that way. On production cars, the notch was left in the roof as a nod of respect, or homage to the original LP500's charming concept, but just to clarify for the uninitiated, the standard LP400 has no "periscope" capability whatsoever. In fact, the rear view mirror does not even align with the roof 'tunnel' and thus the aforementioned only serves the purpose of being a nice 'skylight' for the cabin!
Olivier: That is the Sport Seat option for the Annivesario. Very rare! And very comfortable! That is a special car purchased new by a young heir, Tidi G who lived variously in London & Paris. He was a proud fanatic, and I remember the car when it was new.
1120136 being enjoyed recently by Jurgen W. He always dreamed of owning one, and we found this one for him a couple years ago. The car has exceeded his expectations. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes you see them in more cars in EU, but definitely not standard application, as overall the numbers of cars with two-peice seats is greater. In the USA, of the 187 cars delivered, I know of just one (1) that came with sports seats fitted.
Yes. I don't have a photographic memory, but a very good one, and I remember that the only person who got a deviation from the USA spec was a man who happened to also be the USA concessionaire at the time: he simply asked for it and got it (Joe Nastasi). Now I'm not saying there isn't another USA Annivesario with sports seats out there, but it certainly wouldn't be one that "I know of", as I clarified. Nor have I ever heard of another, other than Joe's. The car you speak of is a car that was owned by Kamyar P whilst he lived in Florida. He had some insert work done to the seats (as well as some other minor modifications) and accordingly the seats look different, but are the standard two-peice items, although in non-original configuration.
