No it is not, I took this picture in Holland in 1988, so this is the car that was in Holland since at least 1988 when I saw it here for the first time untill at least april 1996 when I saw it for the last time. This is the car that went to Guikas!
I'm sure this is 1120274 because the owner told me so! Ex-South Africa. Images Kurt Blythman. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car that went to Guikas is #1120124, first owned by a man from Berlin/Germany. I remember someone having said that he saw the car in Aachen (Aken) / Germany about 20 or 30 years ago, Aachen is near to the Dutch border... but to be honest, I don't know more about 1120124 and 1120256 than the fact that #124 was later held by Mr. Guikas and that #256 is now held by a friend in Germany. I assume that #256 was featured in World Supercars 2, here I leave, I cannot give more input...
Hi Christian, his name was Lex van Tienhoven. Unfortunatly, he has passed away. The picture of the blue Dutch LP400 is taken at his shop CC-Classics. Do you have any proof that this car was advertised as #1120124?
No the Japanese car is confirmed as 252 - See posteriore140's post above, and 256 is well-known to be in Germany these days...
Yes, now that you mentioned it, I remembered an article im Auto Zeitung from 1979. "Die Schau der Stiere", about one of the first ILOC meetings. Balboni was there, the blue Wolf Countach...und...a blue/white LP400, plates AC- HV600 (from Aachen!!) Ciao! Marcel
Right!!!!! Thanks Joe!!! I did not read close enough, sorry Christian ;-) Ok, that solves some mysteries. Thanks Posteriore! Marcel
Yes, I remember that the guy said it had plates of the city of Aachen. And he said that it was #1120124. As that guy had some kind of private registry, I believe that he knew what he was talking about. I am not 100% sure, but I believe in what he said. This would mean that "AC-HV 600" was 1120124, but I don't know...
... yes I think CC classics was the name of the shop. Thank you for the information. It was nice from him to link me with Mr. Guikas, so thanks again and RIP, Mr. v. T.!
You guys just don't understand!!!..... how badly I want an orange lp400. I've thought about finish restoring mine, selling, and try and find an affordable 400 in need of work. I love 1120274!!!!!!!!!!!
Guikas sold at least half-a-dozen LP400 in the past decade including 1120198 which was rescued from Beirut Lebanon... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
At one of the first ILOC meetings, behind the red LP400S S1 is a Blu/Bianco LP400.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tim: You never know, Peter K is on to something, for I have indeed located an "affordable 400 in need of work". It is in the very desirable orange, no less! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am looking for this issue of MOTOR magazine if anyone can help please... as usual, e-mail is best. Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
1120124 is in Japan. It could have been repainted in greyish dark blue metallic and retrimmed in black leather abroad. Regarding the blue LP400 in the World Supercars 2, it shouldn't be 1120256 because the car has no air vents at the center tunnel. It should be older than 1120148.
