  1. What do they usually charge to rebuild each shock?

    VERY NICE, S2 is indeed very nice too but i just like the Bravo style wheels and the SW gauges (not all S1 have them).......... sooooo nice

    +1

    All stock

    here in centimeters:
    A = 78
    B = 76
    C = 58,5

    also on the rear??

    well, why not:
    D = 78
    E = 61

    Emilio, it would be interesting to check these on your car, if somone can do the same on a stock QV (Paul?) then we finally know...

    next step would be the weight..

    Paul:

    I think Eurospares will get you the OZ stickers and I think you should opt for looking good and not worry about handling and such trivia.

    As for the blackout strip, some tape and a can of spray is how the factory did it (seriously).

    perhaps it sits lower because of all the extra weight they have put on these cars...

    Fantastic image.

    FWIW Emilio has the only S1 that was originally painted "Rame Colorado Metallizzato" (he is aware of this).

    ? never heard of that colour, always thought it was originally red like it was on the owners manual, is this bright metallic red? Would be a very nice colour for a S1!

    Marcel, I suppose on the 25th d= 87 not 78...
    Thats's what I meant, i know it from side by side comparison...
    btw mine is a=77, d=87 we did take care that the suspension arms are in horizontal position, so my car is for sure not the lowest but handles very nice :)

    the other measurment which is critical is the width of the front wheel arch. I just went out and checked it. Above the centre of the wheel it is 3 cm wide. It is possible that the profile is different as the width does vary quite a bit! that could explain the difference?

    I just measured my 87 QV and am within a couple of tenths of a cm of Paul 328's numbers.

    The side-by-side comparison here still needs explaining to my mind. I will measure 2 USA-spec Annivesarios that I know are on good order and see what I come up with, and I know well-kept QV that I can measure for comparison.

    i personally took it today :)

    yes, confirmed by different sources, they all agree the car was originally ordered and built rame colorado metallizzato aka rame speciale

    it was then repainted red at factory as used as publicity-manual car
    then sold to Swiss

    reason for repaint? not sure, but likely the order was cancelled, so resale red it went ;)

    quite an history
