Joe, yes, I saw it in a workshop in the outscirts of Modena awaiting its resto. The car was completely dismantled and in bad condition. The original green paint was still on the car.

As far as I remember the car was found in Sweden and that was featured in this UK-magazine with a small photo.

    Ciao!
    Walter

As a German resident who was educated in a Swiss boarding school I am pretty aware where Switzerland and Sweden is. I clearly recall that the UK-feature mentioned Sweden.

I don't think we are talking about the same car... I saw that italian website too which said they restored one of the first CT's, but it's definitely not the one I found in Switzerland.

This unrestored Periscopa is pristine & perfect with 3,500 miles from new. Lovingly preserved over the years, it has not been abused in any way and represents the very best in properly-sorted concours condition LP400, that runs as well as it looks....

The much vaunted record price for a Countach (the car sold at Russo & Steele last month) has been surpassed after barely a month. Unfortunately broker, seller and car are being held to a signed 5-year confidentiality agreement so public disclosure will not be possible, save to say that the prior top number was exceeded.

Yes, actually he does: the cars in the collection are used by the family, and he does not participate in any clubs, events or shows. A private enthusiast, who "plays with himself" (and the cars) as you put it. You should see the collection he plays with :-0LOL.

Yes Raymond, this one is 1120008 and Walter says he knows it because he sold it to vintage racer Martin T in Argentina. Unfortunately, it is no longer in the deep dark Verde Scuro, but instead it is in a rather naff (and non-original for LP400) bright green as applied by a paintshop in the USA. The left image is as the car was in 1974 (driven by Doug Blain for CAR magazine) and the right image is as she exists today.
