This one.. It finally sold a few yrs ago, not sure where it went. That "triple" guy who always talked about his son being the actual owner of His countach ( got old fast), he said a buddy of his bought it.

    No I don't mean that.

I mean the rear wheels are "not placed centrally within the wheel arch" for whatever reason, the point I am making is that it does not look good or factory-correct. I'm speculating that its the suspension links because the other cars I've seen this on did not upgrade to PL suspension. Then again it could simply be incorrect mounting of the spats. Either way it looks terrible, and the word 'kit' comes to mind as with many of these modded cars. I could always spot an LP400 that has been converted into an LP400S, and I have noticed this not centrally positioned rear wheel trait on several of them in years past, all of which have now been thankfully reversed into their original variant.

Sold to Judge Luigi in Texas, he called me about it and you'll be pleased to hear its also been reversed back to standard Eu LP500S guise.

Thank you Olivier, a gorgeous livery.

Thank you for posting these, a sublime Countach.

I believe that's an original interior as done by Paratelli, leather with sheen, perforated insert strips, thin piping etc, same as that of same-era DLA12562 as shown below in an image I took over 20 years ago, you'll note that in order to rectify the deformation often seen in the earlier cars, during this production period they used a high-density foam padding which has always kept it's shape

I don`t agree with Joe. Please look to the brown and red interior - you clearly see differences (the red leather on the sills are more flat than with the brown car. Also the strips in the seats are much deeper with the red rather than with the brown interor).

Fair comments, as I said I believe it to be, but if someone can confirm that DLA12606's interior was re-trimmed, I'll happily stand corrected

Walter is definitely right, the foam under the leather was replaced, that's why it looks that fat. DLA12662 looks identical, there it was done in about 2014 I think.

It´s a 5000s? VIN known? Looks like a kit car with so many "add-ons".

As some of you know, I have been trying to find every right hand drive Countach in the world. This started with me taking photos at Portman Lamborghini in London in the 1980s.

There are exactly 250 right hand drive Countachs of all kinds in the world.

    These consist of:

    22 LP400
    19 LP400S
    37 LP500S/LP5000S
    46 QV without skirts
    17 QV with skirts
    109 Anniversary

This is right hand drive cars made and delivered worldwide, not just UK, and if a car is one of the very few were converted to left hand drive, it is still included here as made in right hand drive. As anyone researching Lamborghinis knows, this has been very hard to get right.... and there may be a very few more cars that appear.

Thank you different people who have sent me lists of cars for different countries, several people who have sent me collections of never seen photos in confidence and the person who was so very helpful in 2017 who wants to remain anonymous.

If anyone has any photos of very rarely seen right hand drive cars, I would be very interested to see them or know about them, as are a cars that I know on paper, but haven't seen a picture of the car ever.

Joe I hope you can answer these critical questions in your "Countach bible" book with clear reasoning on:
Why the 5 liter engine was abandoned at the start?
Why the 15 inch wheels were not used in the beginning?
Why the 2 piece side windows did not make production?

Here is a picture of AGF59W which was taken I reckon in the 80’s in Cambridgeshire. The last I knew the owner smashed it up and was written by the insurance. That was the last time I saw it, in the village.

Ouch. Does it mean Countach #1120228 actually died twice?

Many thanks! At last some fresh information about AGF59W, but what a sad end to the reincarnation of the Convoy LP400 1120228...

    i) the 5 litre apparently died after only 15mins, and was thus deemed too fragile, whether this was Bob being heavy with his right foot, or a flaw in one of the engine prototype parts I dont know, but, the smaller engine was proven, reliable and would still make the Countach the worlds fastest car,
ii) simply put the pirelli p7s werent ready (and we all know that feeling)
iii) apparently the method of constuction meant that the frame had to be welded with the glass already in place, and the glass kept breaking.

How much of the above is true, is like all things Lamborghini, quite hard to prove.....

    Thank you Kevin!

I am working on a number of projects, some of which you'll see here soon, unfortunately a Countach book is not (yet) one of them.

A perfect time to put it back to the LP400 1120228 that the factory created it as.

I feel certain these answers will be the subject of much conjecture!

I heard from a reliable source who was an employee in the Lamborghini the technical department that the original little window was prone to breakage.
