I thought it was the huge one, because of its curved form, the final production triangle fix that issue, because only the front triangle is curved, the other two are flat or almost flat.

Even if 120228 still exists, which now seems extremely doubtful, this is wishful thinking. This was a new 400S built in July 1980 using just the engine, transmission and dashboard from the donor car...

Hmm. It was registered up to 1996, then disappeared. That would explain it. I wonder what happened to what was left?

On your Website the Turbo is mentioned as 1120060, but it's 1121160.

I'm very glad this unqiue car was refound, even Max had no clue where it ended up.
He told me something like stored near Vegas in a preservation box many years ago.

I'm aware of 0228's well-known heritage, and, I've seen some important cars recreated on the basis of their original factory production spec with less than engine & transmission, anything is possible.

Sure 'anything is possible' but would it be the LP400 1120228 that took part in Convoy or even the 'LP400 1120228 that the factory created'. I think not...

Of course, I see what you are saying.

However, if I chanced upon the wreck of 1120228, I would send it back to Lamborghini to have Polo Storico return it to (a shadow of) it's former glory.

The rescue & restoration of these cars to original configuration by the best available means is always a noble cause IMHO.

FWIW I have no interest or affiliation with 1120228

Both the Convoy V8s survive intact though not in their original livery. The Urraco was Oro Met 2.443.239 and the Countach and Silhouette were Oro Longchamps 2.463.553 a Maserati colour.

That's a shame, a classic Lamborghini in gold is a thing of beauty.

Things must be looking up because Countach LP500S 12507 which we once sold is now on the market a cool $1 million

    http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/1982/lamborghini/countach--lp--5000s/1789049

    No affiliation, just sharing.

I've always thought its Argento/Blu livery was stunning for a Countach.

The description states that the livery is a "one of a kind color combination", but that's an error because as rare as that livery is, I think there are at least two (2) other Countachs finished by the works in Argento/Blu, perhaps more.

I posted one of them years ago in this thread imaged at Jarama racetrack in Spain when it was wingless, then it was subsequently refurbished when Emilio found the current owner a new wing which he installed and color-coded

Another of the Spain-based LP500S post-refurbishment, same livery, Argento/Blue with blue dash, actually this is a striking
    combination for any Countach variant

I think this car pictured is not 1121444 but 1121420, have to check my notes and picture archive.
Did Ratel exchange for a LP500s?

There is a number of Argento/Nero cars delivered to Switzerland, but 1121444 is the only argento/blue.
    1121202 1980 Argento Met. Nero
    1121292 1981 Argento Met Nero
    1121420 1981 Argento Met Nero

1121444 is living just 5 miles from me, since decades repainted white and having running boards, quite known.

Yes, next Ratel got a white LP500S (which later went to Johannes Badrut of Badrut's Palace in St Moritz) when he finally got a red Downdraft which I've posted about in the dedicated thread.

The car imaged is identified earlier in this thread as 1444 by Marcello I think, but, are you saying 1420 is also Argento/Blu = 4 cars known in that livery?

As I wrote, need to check my notes and picture archive, 1121444 was exchanged by Max Bobnar for a LP500s, the car for Badrut is BTW ELA12732 originally Tahiti Blue/white.
