2 inches! Some may remember this photo I posted some years back. The doors are VERY different between my S1 and CountachQV's QV. I wish I had the seamstress tape that I have now instead of the typical metal measuring tape but you get the idea.

despite Dr Carpenter's esteem title, she may have a point about optical illusions but she is dead wrong about color and the effects of lighting on it because she has obviously have little understanding of it.

we have light boxes to evaluate color swatch in various environments.

Thanks never knew it was that much, definitely prefer the low roof with Bravo wheels and your color is verrry nice.

    Best regards,

I remember this mostly because there were some who were saying all Countach bodies are "the same" (where have we heard that before?) so thank you for doing it to prove the received wisdom, it was also done here on the West Coast with similar results which underscored yours

Marc, 2 inches doesn't sound like a whole lot, but within the confines of a relatively small cockpit, it can make all the difference in the world, in fact it can make the difference between being able to safely & effectively use the car extensively, or not. Whereas the lower roof cars do have the advantage of a sleek look, the higher roof cars have the advantage of being more usable

Of course that would depend on the build of the driver. I'm 6' and sling a lowbody around with no safety issues. Taller, wider drivers would want the extra 2 inches.

Peter's beautiful S1 lived in Geneva Switzerland, so that may account for why the turn-signal lenses are to Swiss specification

Indeed, you can make a Lowbody work even if you are 6' 2" like me which I suspect is the absolute upper limit, but with all 6 of my low-roof cars over the years, I found myself compromising my most effective driving position, that's why I think in an emergency it would not be good. It's all about the height though, all Countachs seem roomy width-wise. Getting out of the earlier Countachs and into a car with a superb driving position such as the 288 GTO or the F40, or even a 5-liter Countach, you really realize how important it is to be comfortable to drive the car effectively.

I agree, your pushing the limits on height for a lowbody.

    Thank you, Joe.
Joe is correct. All photos of this car, to the way back beginning, have the turn signals like this. I am very pleased no one had switched them prior to my hands on the car.
Plus the old CH sticker on the rear was a Swiss give away.

When the restoration of the Mimran Downdraft was coming to completion, Valentino was there one day and he saw that we had retained the Swiss spec, he rolled his eyes and laughed

That's interesting because Valentino did the same thing, in 2011 in NY, to 1006.......rolled his eyes and took his hand, reached out as to grab the light, and twisted his wrist upside down. I just smiled.

I guess from Valentinos point of view, it´s just useless add-on, which brings weight... :)

We are talking of the Swiss-spec reversal of the turn-signal lens within the housing, no add-on, no extra weight

Correct, but in the instances with Peter & myself Valentino was referring to just the lenses, for some reason he feels the reversal wasn't necessary

Seeing the Us style ,exhaust manifolds,in combination with the big muffler box and carburators, looking at this parts list, must be the worst performing qv.

GLA12997 never had those plates under the engine/gearbox, she had also special headers... it was Patrick's car, he could register her wherever he wanted, the Mimran family has more than a single home place.

I've noticed something of that nature as well, often times with 400s cars though. This well known (and beautiful) example seems straight to my eyes but the gap between the front bonnet and bumper seems larger than some later cars. Perhaps I'm overanalyzing.
