Wrenches - below are the wrenches in my QV tool kit. For 5000S, QV’s and 25th Anniversario variants, the wrenches say “Chrom Vanadium Kravm”. I can’t personally speak to the manufacturer of wrenches in the earlier variants.

Sure would be nice if owners of other variants would contribute for the good of all.

  3. I agree. Owner manual covers are another part of the puzzle.

My experience over the decades in the Lamborghini community has been that mot people prefer to leave it to the few who do make an effort to make meaningful contributions to enhance new received wisdom and thus the overall status of the cars, I doubt that'll change so just go ahead with what you are doing, you're doing a great job IMO.

By the way, when inspecting cars I always use the tools to gauge the storage conditions of the car in terms of dampness and resultant surface corrosion, if you see it on the tool kit and tools the car will have it as well in my experience

Here is a tool kit owned by a client of mine who purchased his LP400S in 1982, he added the gloves a few years later, I'll have to ask him to lay it all out but it looks like he has 4 screwdrivers in there.

Here you can see surface corrosion on the jack, FWIW the car has that also

As they were in production at the same time as the Countach, here's the LM002's kit, looks similar to the QV's except for the jack

I’d love to know what this tool kit actually sold for.

My trained eye suggests that this is a late 88 kit. Two things suggest this:

    - Late 88 cars often had one screwdriver in translucent yellow. Most 25th Anniversario cars had both screwdrivers in translucent yellow.

    - The red trimmed “Nuova Lamborghini” gloves were also phased in late in QV production and were included almost exclusively in 25th Anniversario kits.

Excellent point, Joe. Another thing I would suggest is that owners do not keep their kits in the front or rear boot. Rather, keep them at home in a climate controlled environment. These kits are vintage and they deteriorate and oxidize.

Thank you for sharing. Do you mind if I ask what year car the kit came from?

Thanks again for sharing. You may have noticed the inconsistencies of the items you have in your kit compared to the illustration in the owners manual. You should know that this is most likely due to common inconsistencies with Lamborghini in that era and probably nothing to do with your tool kit bring incomplete. That said, if your desire was to have your kit mirror the owners manual contents, you can find the additional pieces if you look. For example, the hammer is relatively common. I have a source that has a few, or you can find them on eBay. The belts are also easy to find. The harder pieces will be the sliding pliers and the two wrenches. But, again, I’ve never actually seen a tool kit which was exactly like that in the owners manual. Yours in excellent and in superb condition.

    WOW!

thanks Jeff to put these infos organised and all toegether
MANY years ago i made a similar thread for countach wings. i'would have loved to have made one for toolkits to but then almost nobody seemed to cared for tools or manuals for old lambos
things changed a lot since then :)

i tend to agree on most of the things that has been said here: again GREAT job and even more important... first time i see something like this on line

if i can add a small contribution, i would do with LP400 and expecially LP400S cars since i have 3 in the family and some owned by good friends

the LP400 had 2 spare bulb boxes VS the 1 spare bulb box on later cars (400S, 5000S, QV, ANNIVERSARIO)
the LP400 had 2 different brands -AT LEAST- of bulbs spare boxes (API , PHILIPS ....and may be... others)

there are AT LEAST 2 kind of materials for LP400S tool bags: one is a light blue denim ("blue jeans"), other a darker blue in a different material
until today i could not find a rule for which bags attach to a early S and which to a late S

when i say AT LEAST, i tell this because i think there may be even more than 2...that does not come as a big surprise to anyone that studied the matter (as Jeff did), given the lack of consistency Lambo factory had with countach tools. ALSO in 1978-82 lambo factory was in a very bad financial moment with various changes of ownership and management

for this reason and for the pics i have seen and kits i had at office, i would NOT be suprised if there were 3 different "blue" LP400S bags

the lack of consistency on 400S blue bags can be found ALSO on the tools themselves: more brands were used and not only KRAVM ones

thank to you, Jeff - you are way too kind! :)

I plan to make pics of the different blue LP400S bags, so all can see and compare them
