A few of us went for a saturday afternoon blast....around Egham and Staines. The line-up was as follows:

    F40
    360CS
    360
    355 Spider
    GT3
    M5

Was a good day out!! The biggest 'surprise' was how savagely fast the M5 was! on public roads it kept up with everyone quite well....although the F40 could not gets it power down on the snakey, windy roads without fishtailing, when it did, it was naturally too quick for anything in sight.....

A friend of mine went of the supercar run down to monaco recently with 100 cars (many rare exotics, particularly ferraris). He said the new M5 basically beat everything for speed in pretty much most situations.

Great car, no doubt about it, but at the end of the day it's a multi-talented very fast saloon BMW and that means IMO that it just doesn't have that extra WOW factor that you get from a ferrari - that inexplicable something...:)

Nice pics though - glad you had a good time

Great Pics guys, thanks, the F40 looks awesome - well done.

I can confirm that the M5 is fast, bloody fast, but you are right, it is a great Driving Event type car for burning up the miles but it is a glamorous at my foot in the good looks posing for the ladies - stakes, but then again, you buy a Ferrari for looks, speed and posing in, you would buy an M5 then only for value and performance. I kid you not I have considered one for work but have the X5 which is thirsty enough, the M5 is just as bad apparently.

I don't like 15 to the gallon as I drive 1500-2000 miles a week. Gave the X5 to the wife after putting millions of miles on it in year 1, needed a mortgage to pay my petrol account each month. Back to Volvo me thinks, or whatever, but certainly not a Maserati QP, the loan car from Maranello disabused me of that one, hell, that was like having a double hernia of the wallet.

Nah - you'd never find a BMW on a proper Poseur Run! and it sounds like they were going over 30mph in places. Not my cup of tea.

Looks like a very good run indeed. Great selection of cars as well. Is that Albert's F40 then or is it a different one?

ha, no its not Alberts car....His car (Whoosh) had different seats (proper racing seats with F40 on the headrest) and the rear emblem on grill was in the centre - is this still the case Albert or have you changed it back? looked amazing IMO (esp the seats!!)

This F40 is basically stock, but has a LM Tubi exhuast on it...which sounds amazing....constantly pops, bangs and crackles......and i do believe the owner is looking into getting bigger intercoolers and turbos for it.
