Has anyone on the board taken their coupe out for a driver education event?

If so, please let me know how the car did, any mods made, etc. Thanks!

I have had my coupe out on one DE event and will be doing another in the fall. Overall, the car did well although, like all street cars, there were some compromises. The positives:

The engine and transmission combo worked great. The engine is a beast, pulling cleanly from 4,000 rpm to redline. It had no problem keeping up with C5 Vettes and Elises in the straights. No spikes in water temp or low oil pressure either. The Cambio Corsa worked as advertised, with no missed shifts and allowing me to concentrate on my lines. The brakes were outstanding with no fade.

    The negatives:

At 3,500 lbs, it is a pretty heavy car. You can really feel the heft of the vehicle in quick transitions. Even though my car is lowered, it is probably too softy sprung for track use. That said, the handling was predictable and you could move the tail around with the throttle although I didn't really push that hard.

Overall, it worked OK as a track car. If I would do alot of DEs, I would probably get something lighter and more nimble (and cheaper), but for occasional track use, its a very enjoyable car.
