Hello All! A couple of questions; my 348 came with an older aftermarket Pioneer stereo, which fuse does it use? My other question is that the switch "pod" on the driver side door seems to pop out a bit, is there a way to keep it in place? TIA and Aloha!
Ordinarily any stereo installed into a 348 is going to have two fuses which are part of the wiring package of the stereo itself, not one of the Ferrari fuses. There will be one fuse for full-time battery power (to hold the preset stations and operate the stereo clock, if so equipped) and one for switched power, to actually operate the radio. You should be able to look up behind the radio area, kind of above the gas pedal, and see the wiring bundle, which should have the two in-line fuses. Otherwise, if you remove the center console panel below the radio (very easy) you should be able to see the radio wiring. Also, the manual lists fuse #4 in the footwell panel as "Autoradio - door locking". If your power locks are working, that fuse should be OK. If the switch panel on the drivers door is loose, you need to pull the panel and see if there are broken clips on the switch.
Which leads me to the question, did 348's have a radio-cassette installed from new (define the brand name used)or was it an optional add-on item after market ? Mine is a 1993 model.
are you sure the problem isn't that the leather has shrunk on the door panels? Every 348 I've seen has that problem and it leaves a gap between the switches and the door panel. Only solution is to get the panel recovered by a local upholstery shop. I've heard $1000 is a ballpark for the job....
Hi, My switch pod was sticking out as well - turns out it was missing some of the tabs that hold it in place. You can get a new one from Ricambi - I think it was $15.
