1. Have a Becker Toronto Radio out of my 83 400i FM worked fine. Never tried AM. Casette worked but only if you held the tape in place. My understanding is that is a common problem. Tag on top of the radio says the power supply, filter [something illegible - looks like caa) and the casette were repaired on 7/13/87. Must have been Friday the 13th. 2. This car had a smog pump on it when I got it. It is locked up. There was no belt. Sorry, but I did not take a pic of it. It is going in the recycle pile if no one wants it. I would offer the mounting bracket with it, but it is welded to something else (I believe one of the alternator brackets). Also, while not free, I have listed a couple other parts on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-of-Ferrari-V12-Fuel-Distributors-with-Air-Flow-Meters-and-air-boxes-/170903880558?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27caaa436e and here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-v12-Fuel-Distributor-lines-All-12-/170903884425?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27caaa5289 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Radio is spoken for. I really don't expect anyone to want the smog pump. Just hated to throw it away before offering.
Also have a pair of fuel accumulators for free. All you pay is shipping. I have no way to test them, but car was running when I removed them. Kind of a kelley green color, two threaded fittings on one end and one 90 degree curved nipple on the other. Don't believe there was anything hooked up to the nipple end, but they both hold vacuum, if that helps diagnose. None of the braided fuel lines are included. I have no need for them, as I am going a different route on injection. Just pm me if interested. Give me your address, I will mail them to you, and let you know how much the postage is, you can send me a check when you recieive them. I have received requests for heater control valve, transmission cooler lines and other similar items. I can't remove them just yet, as I want to still be able to drive the car from time to time. (Don't ask how I can drive it without the fuel distributors, air boxes, accumulators etc. You wouldn't believe me). Lynn
I was thinking you could still have the throttle bodies in place and you could hotwire the cold start injectors to stay on all the time. This setup might be enough to putt around at low speed. But it would require high pressure fuel from the fuel pump, and you've removed the fuel accumulators. So I don't know. Anyway, such a setup would not be much different than the single carb 195 Inter Ferraris: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Any interest in used mufflers? I can't see letting them go for free, and shipping would be pretty bad. I am thinking the best shipping method would be truck terminal to terminal. I strap them on a pallet and deliver to Old Dominion. They have terminals all over the country. I will post pictures of both sets tomorrow. My card reader here at the house has failed. I have the mufflers that are all welded together, three on each side. There is no rust-through on the mufflers, and considering the weight, I believe most of the innards are still there. The two exit pipes on the rear most muffler on one side (can't remember which side I took it from - and I think they are the same right and left) will need to be repaired. The other side is fine. I am hanging on to the the rear resonators and chrome tips, as I think (maybe just wishful thinking) that I can tuck them up under my project car. I won't know for a while. So... here is what I am thinking on the mufflers. I would rather sell both sets, as I don't want to make two trips to the terminal. Would take $750 for all six, and that includes me strapping to a pallet and delivering to the Old Dominion (or any other terminal in OKC), but does not include the actual shipping charge, which will be on the buyer. Considering the cost of new, I think that is reasonable. Let me know if I am out of line. By the way, this engine sounds friggin AWESOME with open headers! So much cooler than ths sound of a Chevy with open headers. Lynn
Thanks for asking Dave. Both mother and son are doing great. For those not in the know, my wife donated a kidney to our 18 year old. Sherri is back to 100%. Zack is better than 100% because now he doesn't have to go to dialysis 3x a week, and doesn't get so run down. Made it through band camp without a hitch, and is enjoying Sr. year. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I could never find a more perfect match for me than Sherri. I am having a blast helping raise Zack. He is more like a son to me than a step son. Some of the normal 18 year old issues, but for the most part he is a great kid and we have a lot of fun together. I have always said the most fun job I ever had was raising my kids. We remain very close even though they are 35 31 and 30. Now, I get to have that same fun all over again with Zack.
by the way, if anyone in the future does a search on Lynn because they are thinking about doing business with him, this is a stand up guy; you're good here.
Thanks Dave. Here are pics of the mufflers. All I know for sure is that they are HEAVY. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh yes, I agree 100%. I've bought several bits from Lynn for my '83 400i and he's always good to his word. AAA+++ as they say on eBay. P.S. That is such a crazy exhaust system. What *were* they thinking?
OK.......NOW I'm gonna have to get a listen. Next time you bring one up near DFW, or I head your way.........
That is what I plan on my project. When the exhaust was all together on the 400i, it was way too quiet. Of course, there are still those who want a quiet grand touring experience. Lynn
OK, so there may be a few others... but I thought about putting this on ebay, decided against it because I have no idea how old it is. But... if you need the bellows for the passenger side, this one is still soft and pliable with no tears or cracks, and may last you many years. First one to PM me your address and agree to reimburse actual shipping (should fit in a post office medium flat rate box - so $12) gets it. What I have been doing is just shipping and then you send me a check. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those of us running straight stainless will tell you their cars aren't very loud inside. You get a nice sound but it isn't loud. Now standing or driving behind them is a whole different story. If you stomp on them they scream!
Lynn, I'm actually looking for the "exhaust horns" for a long time now, would you be interested selling just those to me? Thanks and best regards, Jan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, I just sold the house where these have been stored. I am not moving them to my new house. So.... if no one here wants the entire set up, I will be glad to remove those for you. Hate to see any Ferrari part end up in the metal pile for recycling, but that is where the rest will be going. Guys, should I put these on ebay? Any chance there is a market. I am not at all firm on the price. Feel free to make an offer. Lynn BTW, on a completely different note, Dave, I am sipping some of your wine right now. We are down to the last two bottles. Had some Sugarland Sweet last night. Almost detected a smokey bacon taste, which sounds really bad, but man was it good. Was really disappointed when that bottle was finished. Primo.
Damn defective bottles. I keep trying to find a vendor that can supply me with a bottle that doesn't run dry. No luck yet. Glad you enjoyed it.
OK, just making sure. No one wants the rubber boot or bellows or whatever you want to call it, not even for free, correct? I did not receive any offers on the mufflers, so I am cutting off the exhaust horns, and the rest is going on the metal pile to be recycled. It really pains me to put Ferrari parts in the recycle pile.
