After my father saw the 328 tucked away in the garage, he said he wouldn't mind getting one - but he decided he wanted a Mondial Coupe. After doing alot of reading for him, decided to get either the 87-88 3.2 Mondial or the 89+ 3.4 liter version. The lack of power steering does not bother him and it seems that the upkeep on the 3.2 would be easier/cheaper.

    But....

He is going to be using this car as a daily driver in Houston and wanted to know if the A/C is sufficient enough for the summer months.

Also, he has a history of being hard on cars....hitting the gas hard when the light turns green and braking late ;) He is continually in a rush and no matter how much I warn him, he will not let the car "warm up" for a few minutes prior to going anywhere.

So do y'all think the 3.2 would be better for him & his driving habits or the newer 3.4 liter version? I realize the 3.4 is newer and updated but I'm not sure if it's "better" for him and his habits - like the updates will help the car withstand more abuse

Thanks for any help and guidance

Plan on $2,000 to bring the A/C up to new and buy the 3.2. Mine is a daily driver in Alabama.

Brakes are terrific; many '88 up had ABS
A/C works for me in San Antonio in black car.
3.4 has a bit more torque, but 3.2 is quite good w/ less upkeep.

As long as he is easy for first few miles start up and go not too bad. The car will let him know when it is ready - they have quite discernable personalities as you know. :)
