I am about to change the motor mounts and trans mount on my 430. I have a couple of questions, tried searching with no luck so I thought I would ask for some help. Do you gain access to remove the bushing from the top or bottom? If from the top......I will have to remove the air box, how is this done? Is it necessary to remove the side panels to disconnect the air box ? Any additional help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance !

Top. Yes airbox needs removed along with side panels and the aluminum engine/transaxle frame needs to be unbolted and manipulated in order to get the special press tool on the main/top bushing. Changed out mine along with motor mounts. Sure was worth every penny and bloody knuckle. Rear is more solid and shifts are much crisper.

I just finished mine yesterday. You need the proper tool to press the new mount into the gearbox.
Yes, you need to remove the air box, side panels, aluminium cradle that sits around the engine and the cat’s (to allow you to get the press tool in position).
You’ll have to drill/cut/gouge out the old bush rubber, otherwise your press won’t sit straight when trying to remove it. Some guys cut the bush metal to remove it, but I find it easier to just press it out. Press the new mount in and make sure you’ve put it in right side up! I’ve seen incorrectly fitted mounts from the factory. Reassemble everything and you’ll be good to go.

I just did mine last week. I will post a complete DIY soon including tips of the trade, photos, pdf copies of the workshop manual procedures and other recommendations.

I also have the Hill Engineering Removal Tool that I no longer need and will offer it for sale here 50% less than what I paid for it. I dont know how anyone can remove the bushing without a tool as it is in there frozen solid and wont budge. An option is to just cut it in half but I dont want to risk damaging the surface of the gearbox.

I will post DIY sometime tonight or this weekend.
