I'm looking for an all weather cover for my 1979 400i (#28977). There seem to be lots of suppliers so I'm hoping for a suggestion to narrow it down a little bit. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a generic cover for my car. I contacted California Car Cover and they emailed me a document with a picture of a car and places where you take measurements from your car and input your dimensions. They will then custom make a cover. I haven't done this yet but plan to do so this winter.

I'll sec California car cover. Had a custom all weather cover made for my 400i and it fits perfectly.

If that's the case I think they keep the measurements on file. How long ago did you get the cover made? The only difference between the 400 & 365 is the small chin spoiler.

I bought a California Car Cover when I first acquired my 400i over 12 years ago. It still fits great and looks nearly new. I've washed it twice during that time. I got the NOAH fabric which is for indoor use. I didn't have to measure anything as they had the dimensions on file.

I use this on my cars: Coverite blue waterproof size 4 $50.00 at amazon. These fit wonderfully and are impervious to everything. I also use my old cover as an inner(buffer) liner. I hope this is of some use to someone. Thank you. Jq.

Come to think of it I asked for a cover for a 365 and they said they didn't have any. I didn't even think to ask if they had a cover for a 400. Probably could have had a nice one all along. Does your 400 cover go over the small front spoiler and in your opinion would your cover work on a car with out it or would it be best to get them to change it slightly?

I think it does. I just pull it over the bumpers as its inside.
