OOOOOOoooooooooo......... There's something I'd like to get - a pair in Oprah.

Oops. Nevermind. I already have a couple in cowhide. :D

I wouldn't exactly consider what the Queen of Yap says to be particularly relevant when it comes to something like cowboy boots. As I suggested in your Honky Tonk (moving to Texas) thread, you'll also learn a new appreciation for Linen, also a big Oprah faux pas before and after after certain dates.

To witness cowboy boots worn well in all manner of non-Oprah-approved ways, hit downtown Ft. Worth around lunch time, M-F.
To be entertained by people wearing them embarrassingly wrong, drive through TCU campus on a hot day, when the cute girls from up North try to be "Texan" by wearing boots with gym shorts. In public.

I have these that I have yet to wear out, what can I pair them with, besides denim.

    Are you in Texas yet???

You'd realize just how silly that statement was......

As WILLIAMH correctly states, I have worn them with suits, tuxedo, jeans, dress slacks....

Lady Valeria has worn them to great effect with a red lace item that comes VERY close to "nothing at all".....

Not that I'd want OPRAH to take that advice, mind you......

I take mine off only for driving shoes, or Rainbow sandals........

Google up the white pair my neighbor Rocky Carroll made for Liz Taylor.

He left the outline of the White Diamonds perfume bottle in the upper shank, that she later filled with $60K in real daimonds.

He was pretty famous for outfitting both Bush presidents, but he's done some for AJ Foyt with the Indy logo, and tons of others.

Rocketbusters are one of my fav 'off the shelf' makers......

Yes!! Last night was my 1 week Texas residency anniversary. So far I haven't met any fashion icons, with the exception of this one guy I saw in downtown Dallas wearing a cowboy hat.

I bought this dress, and I'm planning to wear it with the white boots. Hopefully the femininity of the dress will balance out the hard edges of the boot. Any naysayers before I step out?

Just to make it interesting, I'm going to throw a white snakeskin jacket over that. Halloween is coming up, and I might as well go as a PETA target.

I have had alot of boots over the years and the one that I like the best (shoe comfort and soles that last) are Ariat deertan heritage pointed toe boots. The soles don't slip or wear out like leather soles do or get wet and hold water. Also no break in time as they are soft leather, These are great boots, not $700 boots, but for $150 bucks their great for everyday.

    Nice boots Hubbster......!!

This is my 4th pair of cowboy boots in 20 years. Always bought the same style, and from the same place.

Hand made, custom fitted, calf skin uppers and inners, with back cut Python on a low cut "walking" heel.....$700.....they will last about 5-6 years as I wear them 3-4 times a week. Second to dress shoes and running shoes, cowboy boots are the most common footwear here in town. Grab a pair of tight fitting jeans, a good shirt and belt, and your boots.......find a bar......and in about an hour you've got 3 phone numbers in your pocket. :D

If you ever come here, go to the world famous "Alberta Boot Company".......started 57 years ago by an WWII ex-Spitfire pilot, he has made boots for the richest and most famous people and organizations from around the globe, and even us simple folk. This company actually makes the boot for the Dallas PD, amongst others.

Do not buy cheap cowboy boots, you'll usually regret it.....I can spend 18 hours in these, and my feet think they've got socks on.

    Yeah baby !!!!!!

I've never done it, but I have a buddy that pulls plenty of tail wearing cowboy boots, board shorts, pearl snap western shirts, and a skater style baseball cap.

Re the heel I think they shift your weight towards the ball of your foot so they could actually relieve heel pain

I always slip in some gel soles

Re back pain, probably depends on the cause of this. Streching and a good chiro are excellent for back pain

    Thanks, HUBB!

Slipped into something a little more comfortable at Boot Barn today . . . Ariats - really nice fit & at least right now, deliver on their goal of comfort & performance.
