I noticed some red ATF fluid had leaked down onto the rear window of my V wagon, and when I followed it up, I saw a red puddle under the Scud. Removing the carbon fiber panel showed that the ATF reservoir tank had fluid on it. I wiped it off, pressurized the system and filled her 8mm above the plate yesterday.

Thanks to Dom’s (Flash 32) great advice, I put paper towel around it and let it sit overnight. This morning you can see a small amount that appears to be in the center of the tank where the seam is.

Dom believes he remembers another member who needed to have a tank replaced due to a crack. Has anyone else had this happen? Image Unavailable, Please Login

One other thing to note. following my cleanup of the reservoir and subsequent refilling, I took the car out for a 20 minute drive, she shifted brilliantly and had zero issues.

Is this the F1 fluid reservoir? It’s difficult to tell from the picture.

Overfilling of the F1 system can make a real mess.

I don't believe this is an overfilling event .... normally ( i have seen it a hundred times) the overflow comes out of the tube that is on the cap and runs underneath the bottom cover
This appears to be leaking from the seam .. we are making sure of it by resetting level and putting the paper towels around it to see for sure
We will, if we have to, remove relay and release pressure to se if the fluid is below cap

I had to replace my power steering reservoir because it cracked right along the seam where the 2 pieces come together, I believe the F1 tank is a similar design and it looks like it may be leaking right along that area.
