Crankcase ventilation / breather hose source?

    My '78 308 crankcase ventilation hose has split going up 2-4". I tried cutting it there but am having a devil of a time trying to reuse the hose as it is extremely hard and brittle. It's out of stock at Ferrari UK. I tried Napa and a local hose supplier but neither carries high temp braided hose. I also tried a general classic supplier to no avail. I tried them because someone posted in the old F-chat that MGs and Fiats are loaded with this kind of hose. Any other ideas where I can find this stuff?

    Search the various Mercedes cars to find the correct sized hose. I bought my 7mm fuel line from them.

    Thanks. A lifetime of Harley riding paid off when I thought of a local source: a custom bike builder. A dealer wouldn't have it. But I thought the builders that make custom bar hoppers would. Sure enough, first one I called sold steel braided oil line in bulk.

    Great sourcing! Sometimes, until the right part comes along, it's best to keep an open mind about maintaining classic cars. My next guess would have been a trip to Lowes or Home Depot's plumbing department (an automatic dishwasher supply line maybe). Or this http://www.paragonperformance.com/
